Great tea when coffee does not sound good,

I guess I am one of the few that love this green tea. I own the Tassimo by Bosch T20 Single Serve Coffee Brewer, White and have a lot of teas and coffees stocked up. During the afternoon or at night I love to grab a green tea and while it is brewing I add SweetLeaf Liquid Stevia, Lemon Drop, 2-Ounce Bottles (Pack of 2) to the glass mug, just a few drops. I don't think the tea is bitter at all and love the flavor of it. Another thing I do my mugs are Libbey 13-Ounce Classic Coffee Mug, Box of 12, Clear and there is a little room left after the tea brews. Once the green cup light on my T20 is blinking to indicate it is ready I put the machine in manual over drive and add more water by pressing the button until the top of the mug is full. I guess with the added water and lemon stevia it is just the right flavor. I love it so much I drink several glasses a day. One of my favorite teas for the Tassimo.

Tea bag users will find that this tea is not bitter,

T DISCs (or K Cups used in the Keurig brewers) use either tea dust or tea fannings (the broken part of leaves) just like tea bags do. This "format" allows the tea to be brewed quickly. As a result, you will rarely encounter a good cup of green tea made from these sources because this is the lowest quality of tea.If you drink loose green tea that you brew at a temperature of 180 degress Fahrenheit (like I do), then I doubt you'd like this brew. However, if you are use to boiling your own water to make green tea, you will find that this tea is not bitter because the Tassimo machine controls the temperature of the water so that none of the bitter tannins are released. Although the tea is cloudy and the flavor is just okay, if your are looking for green tea made quickly that is a step up from a tea bag steeped in boiling water, then this is suitable but not great.

Better Iced than Hot,

I bought this tea as a healthy alternative when I didn't want coffee, for the antioxidants. It isn't my favorite Tassimo tea, but it is still ok. It tastes better over ice, with mint, or a little sugar. Hot, I add honey or sugar, as alone it has a somewhat strong taste to me. I will keep buying it to have a variety of teas.

I didn't care for this tea hot. So I brewed a few pods and made iced tea and it was excellent. Hot, the tea doesn't have as much flavor as loose green tea.

Bitter! But...,

As other reviewers have noted, its not the best but its also not horrible. For me, it is quite bitter. At first I powered through it, enjoying the t-disc convenience, but it didn't take long before I couldn't stomach it any more. However, I had a ton of these t-discs, so I started experimenting. I found that adding a dollop of Wedderspoon Raw Organic Beechwood Honey Wedderspoon Raw Organic Active Beechwood Honey, 17.6-Ounce Jars (Pack of 2) mitigated quite a bit of the bitterness. So while it still isn't the best cup of green tea on the planet, its more than tolerable for me now, and I do have a couple cups per day. I'm not sure that I will re-order these, mainly because I recently discovered this wonderful item: Cuisinart CPK-17 PerfecTemp 1-2/3-Liter Stainless-Steel Cordless Electric Kettle, that I paired with this: Bodum YoYo Personal Tea Set with Infuser and 12-Ounce Glass and I am now enjoying magnificent tasting, non-bitter organic whole leaf teas with about the same convenience/time factor/clean up as the tassimo.

Good because it is so convenient. Not the best green tea I have ever had. I also use a bit of honey to sweeten, because it's quite bitter plain.

This green tea is a little strong so I sweeten it with some honey. It's good tea though.

Well, after finally finding some good cremas out there I was ready for something else. I reasoned that I was quite pleased with the Earl Gray tea, so why not Green Tea?After waiting for Amazon to get that tea, I could barely wait for my box to arrive. I popped one of those long awaited Green Tea discs into my 'bot and --- WOW that's the best tasting sea weed that I've ever tasted!!! I never knew that you could actually make tea out of sea weed. I guess that I got the box with the wrong label on it. I was expecting Green Tea, instead I got the box of Sea Weed. It should go well with sushi!!!! |
