good any time of day, solo or accompanied,

A nice, medium-strength black tea. Not as strong as 'breakfast' teas, good any time of day. I drink it black, either by itself or with food. To my taste, this stands alone better than Twinings' 'English Afternoon' blend tea, which is of similar body. This was a better unit price than the Twinings I can find locally. I didn't give this the highest rating simply because there are other brands that I think are higher quality, but this is still a very nice, high-end tea. (And easier to find.)

Sometimes it's necessary to turn away from so-popular blends, and enjoy this old-fashioned classic. It has nice body, and does not leave stains as much as other bagged teas. It allows to make a cup of very decent tea fast, however it's not as good as one made from loose bulk tea.

Try with mint,

I love the light-medium body of this tea. I agree with another reviewer - I have never had a bitter cup of this blend. Try it with a bit of fresh or dried mint but don't add too much or it will make it taste bitter. Great for the afternoons. I get many compliments when I make this blend for my guests.
