4.0 out of 5 stars good any time of day, solo or accompanied
A nice, medium-strength black tea. Not as strong as 'breakfast' teas, good any time of day. I drink it black, either by itself or with food. To my taste, this stands alone better than Twinings' 'English Afternoon' blend tea, which is of similar body.

This was a better unit price than the Twinings I can find locally. I didn't give this the highest rating simply...

3.0 out of 5 stars New taste for old tea or bad lot?
I've been drinking this tea every morning for several years so, needless to say, I love it. Strong, mellow, rich, well-rounded. Typically, I would give it a 4 star.

Just recently, however, I purchased several boxes at a local grocery store and was shocked to find the taste completely different and largely tasteless. 1 star at best. I don't know if something...

This was a better unit price than the Twinings I can find locally. I didn't give this the highest rating simply because there are other brands that I think are higher quality, but this is still a very nice, high-end tea. (And easier to find.)

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice and old-fashioned, January 8, 2007

Sometimes it's necessary to turn away from so-popular blends, and enjoy this old-fashioned classic. It has nice body, and does not leave stains as much as other bagged teas. It allows to make a cup of very decent tea fast, however it's not as good as one made from loose bulk tea.

5.0 out of 5 stars Try with mint, July 23, 2008

I love the light-medium body of this tea. I agree with another reviewer - I have never had a bitter cup of this blend. Try it with a bit of fresh or dried mint but don't add too much or it will make it taste bitter. Great for the afternoons. I get many compliments when I make this blend for my guests.

This is rather expensive in our local grocery store (Ingles) and I cannot even find it at Wal-Mart! But here on Amazon they've got the BEST deal and man what a smooth taste! You'll love it! Hey try out my tea:

Lovelace's Southern Sweet Tea

Ingredients: 3 Twinings Ceylon Orange Pekoe Tea Bags and 1 1/3 cup of sugar (or Splenda or 2/3 Sugar and 2/3 Splenda to cut calories)

Directions: Pour full coffee pot of water into Coffee maker, put 3 tea bags in drainage area. Allow Pot to fill with Hot tea. Meanwhile, put 1 1/3 cup sugar in your pitcher (or container) after tea's done brewing pour in over sugar. Mix well to ensure sugar has dissolved. Next, pour in enough cool water to fill or for iced tea put in enough ice cubes to make it. Makes 1 gallon of Sweet (southern) Tea. YUMMY!

Twinings Ceylon is the best black tea. Hands down, this makes the best brewed black tea. My wife and I have tried many fine teas and this is our absolute favorite. We have given this as gifts which has converted other followers. If you like or love black tea, you will love this one. It makes an excellent iced tea as well. Give it a try.

As an English woman in America I am still addicted to tea. Twinings Ceylon Orange Pekoe tea is my absolute favorite tea, not too strong with a subtle flavor. Amazon sent my tea in its usual speedy and efficient fashion so that I can continue with my harmless addiction.

5.0 out of 5 stars very mellow tea, July 29, 2009
This review is from: Twinings Ceylon Orange Pekoe Tea, Tea Bags, 20-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
I drink tea every day and have for years, and Twinings Orange Pekoe is the only one I've found that is both full-bodied and satisfying, while still being mellow and low acid. It can be hard to find locally, and the price just went up a dollar a box.

The increased cost forced me to look around for other options. I was pleased to become a customer of Amazon as I can now get it at a very reasonable price--so I am happy.

I love Twinings Orange Pekoe Tea. Unfortuantely the grocery stores only carry it sporadically. I love that I can get it through Amazon. Good price. Good service. Speedy delivery.

We experimented with many teas before falling in love with Ceylon Orange Pekoe from Twinings. However, it was difficult to find it in stock even in stores that usually stock the Twinings range. Now buying Ceylon from Amazon has made it so much easier - it is about 35% cheaper than store price and we get free shipping when we order 2 boxes (about $30).

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the steamy aroma and the smooth taste, June 7, 2008

What I love about Ceylon tea is the aroma in addition to the taste. Evoking the swarmy tropical jungles, it's just right with a spot of milk. I certainly like this Orange Pekoe tea better than the Twinings English Breakfast tea. Makes great ice tea too, exactly the traditional way. I actually left the tea bags in the hot water too long, more than 5-10 minutes, and no bitter taste! I'm glad Amazon carries this because it is not easily found locally.
