Most prized of all black teas,

Certainly my favourite tea, this has not only a got a magnificent tart 'muscatel' taste' a thin-bodied tea, beautifully spiced and with a lovely floral aroma and golden hue.
It is highly relaxing and soothing, giving you just the right buzz for the day. And also perfect for all occasions for relaxing at a coffee shop, reading, watching a movie certainly, but also for a highly charged work day. It is certainly no wonder this one is regarded as the highest quality and most prized of all black teas.

Consistently Good Darjeeling Tea,

I have been drinking Twinings teas for years. Twinings teas are consistently good. Each tea bag comes in a sealed envelope which helps to keep it fresh. Over a period of time, I have settled on two favorites. These are the Darjeeling and Green teas.
Twinings Darjeeling Tea: At one time, I used Twinings China Black Tea. Unfortunately, they stopped selling that variety. I tried others, but chose the Darjeeling tea for an afternoon tea and snack break. It offers a nice strong flavor and deep color. There is enough caffeine in this tea to provide a nice lift. Twinings Green Tea: There are quite a few varieties of green tea offered by Twinings. I prefer the pure green tea. Interestingly, according to the product blurb, green tea is made from the same leaves as is black tea. The difference is in the processing. Green tea is lighter in color and has a more subtle taste. In general, green teas have less caffeine than the darker teas. I find that the Green tea is good for early evening. It has just enough caffeine to provide some energy but not too much to keep me awake at night. I recommend both the Darjeeling and Green varieties of Twinings teas.

Got this yesterday and had my two cups a day. Great flavor and the strength is light enough but not too light (as I wanted). Well packaged and arrived in a timely fashion.

I tried this tea because I notice that Horace Rumpole and his wife Hilda seem to enjoy it on a regular basis. They are fictional, but the tea is not! I have found it to be very pleasant. The aroma is unique and the taste is quite rewarding. Decent caffeine content as well. I have found that making it the proper English way, in a pot with boiling water works best. I have also made it in my cup and used (gasp) the microwave. Either way, I am now drinking it daily and have laid in a large supply. I also enjoy Twinings English Breakfast Tea and plan to try other varieties of Twinings as well. Their web site is very informative and entertaining.
In the meantime, I shall pop in a Midsomer Murders DVD and happily sip my Darjeeling.

This is the perfect afternoon, snuggling, book-reading tea. But, hold the cup in both hands for the first deep breath. And be sure not to let the leaves steep too long. You don't want to ruin perfection.

I love the Twinings Darjeeling Tea. I have a hard time finding it in the stores, so being able to order it is a
real treat. I have ordered flavors that I have a hard time finding in the stores. I enjoy curling up with a warm blanket in front of the TV with a good DVD (NCIS)and a good cup of Twinings Tea!!!!!!!

Darjeeling is my favorite tea, and I've been delighted to find it available in loose leaf tins at Amazon. It's not available in my local groceries.

Searched high and low for darjeeling tea where I normally shop. They carry all types of Twinings tea except darjeeling tea.
It has become my favorite tea since the purchase. It is flavorful with a hint of citrus. It has a clean and bright taste. I'm more than pleased with my purchase. J

High quality but not my favorite,
This review is from: Twinings Darjeeling Tea, Tea Bags, 20-Count Boxes (Pack of 6) (Grocery)
This is a high quality tea. I tried it because my grocery store was out of Twining's oolong and it stated on the box if you like oolong try DarJeeling. The only thing I don't like is that it has a peppery zesty taste. I like a more mellow, smooth flavor for a black tea. No doubt many other's will like this tea because it is high quality, it is just a flavor preference for me.

A tea I will NEVER be without,

Twinings was founded in London, England in 1706, and has a long and respected tradition of producing only the finest of teas. The history of Darjeeling tea goes back to the 1840s, when Dr. Campbell, a civil engineer, planted tea seeds in his garden at Beechwood, Darjeeling. The result was a nice light tea with excellent color and aroma. Darjeeling tea gained a considerable following, and is now highly prized as the "champagne of teas!"
OK, let's get down to brass tacks - this is an excellent tea, produced by a great company, and a tea I will NEVER be without. The tea has an excellent aroma and flavor and is harder to over-steep than some other teas that I have known. Also, something of a surprise is the fact that this tea tastes at least as good iced as it does hot! As such, year round you will find me making Twinings' Darjeeling tea. So, here's the bottom line: if you want a tea that is excellent hot AND cold, then Darjeeling is for you. If you want tea from a great tea producer, then Twinings is for you. If you want the best tea in the world, then buy Twinings' Darjeeling tea! |
