3.0 out of 5 stars Sorry I got it ...
I purchased the album because it was "a Clark sister" and if they have an album out, I purchase it. However, only about half of the songs on this album are really good. The second half just "falls off." After hearing the entire project, I felt that they could have left half of the songs out -- they were weak, some of the lyrics were poor.

4.0 out of 5 stars Twinkie's Back, September 19, 2002
This review is from: Twinkie Clark & Friends: Live in Charlotte (Audio CD)
Twinkie is back...and in full effect...This collection of songs is definitely her strongest yet in her solo career...Her first two solo efforts leaned heavily on the contemporary (and synthesized) side and her third, The Masterpiece, leaned her in a contemporary jazz setting that displayed her brilliance, but left the listener wanting some infamous Clark fire. This project provides just that. It is the older material (Endow Me, Pray For The USA, Jesus Is Coming Soon and It Won't Be Long) that will hook the listener...The organ solo on "Coming Soon" is worth the price of the CD...
I do hope, however, that on the next project, Twinkie can focus on writing some new material that rivals the fire of the OLDER material that very much carries this album. Twinkie is a brilliant writer...and I long to see her create some new gems birthed from the same place as "Endow Me", "Name It, Claim It" and the other classics that placed The Clarks at the top of the gospel world...

4.0 out of 5 stars Twinkie, what an "Awesome" album., August 24, 2002

The Clark Sisters are still the Premier #1 Female Singing Group of Gospel Music. They have truly layed the foundation of what the other contemporary female solo artists and groups are producing today. These Women of the Gospel have started this Looooong time ago. I love the musicality, creativity and the anointing that supports it. I'm sure that if Dr. Mattie Moss Clark and Pastor Elbert Clark would be here, they would be proud of their daughters. Twinkie, your COGIC flavor style of playing the organ on "Christ is Coming Back Again" is just sooooo Da Bomb! I purchased this CD at the mall (Sam Goody) and they only ordered one album for the whole store and it was so ironic that I bought it. God has a way of doing things. I am waiting for the video. I am studying the Clark Sisters harmony and Twinkie style of playing. Mind you, I have a collection: Is My Living In Vain, You Brought the Sunshine, Bringing it Back Home, Count it All Joy, Gospel (1982), COGIC Int'l Mass Choir with Twinkie singing and playing for Elder R. White, Miracle, The Masterpiece, Finally Karen, Florida A & M, 2nd Chance, and now I have this album. I just ordered "He Gave Me Nothing To Lose." This album is really nice. But I'm in love with more of the old songs and Twinkie chords driving it with her turning the vibrato swell and great off. Organists, if any of you want an anointed style of playing, pray but keep in mind Twinkie Clark, meaning listen to her but incorporate her style into developing your own style. I am telling you, the Spirit of God is good ALL BY ITSELF but there is nothing like some good old school and contemporary organ music when the service gets high. I've learned and still learning to use the organ to evangelize in a service or whatever instrument that I may play; and to be watchful of the spirit by watching and praying. I am 18 years old. I've been playing since I was three and they put me on the organ at church when I was eight. I'm telling you, Twinkie Clark, the girl is BAD and she is a spiritual organist role model in my life because she is under the inspiration, dedication, and the anointing of the Holy Ghost. I can tell in her songwriting and her playing. I'm quite sure that she has had an "Overdose of the Holy Ghost" and I know that she is ENDOWED, and she will be as long as she is in the "Center of thy Will." Please if you or the Clark Sisters ever tour, come to the New Orleans area; and you have to play. I really wish that you and Moses Tyson can get together and produce an organ CD of songs and praise break. This album is really tight! I love when you all bring back some of the old songs on the newer albums. Keep it Up and Keep it On. May God Bless you and May God Keep you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twinkie's got it going on!, February 7, 2003
This review is from: Twinkie Clark & Friends: Live in Charlotte (Audio CD)
Twinkie Clark has a beautiful, anointed voice. This new CD is amazing. She takes me into a higher place of praise and worship on this new CD. I really love the song, "Worship the King". This song blesses me everytime I hear it. "I'll never cease to worship King Jesus!" I really love how she just let's go and let's God does his thing. I also love the first song on the CD, "Jesus Saves". I'm very impressed by the reunion with her sisters on "Endow Me". That song is the bomb! I really like her CD and I believe that anyone who buys it will be truly, bountifully blessed. ```````Twinkie, Keep singing your song. You got it going on!

5.0 out of 5 stars Anointed collaboration, August 23, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Twinkie Clark & Friends: Live in Charlotte (Audio CD)
I had the pleasure of actually participating in this project, but to hear it on CD was a blessing. This CD is truly anointed. Twinkie is magnificent on this project and her playing the organ is always a blessing. Her sisters are still nothing less than dynamite. The Clark Sisters are still one of the best groups on the face of this planet! To hear Karen riff on "Endow Me" was awesome. I tell you, I want a Clark Sisters Reunion album. "Worship the King" is a wonderfully written worship song. "Jesus Saves" is off the gates! It's sure to get your head bobbing. I had plenty of fun singing it. "Thank You For The Healing" is also an excellent collaboration. She even has a couple of songs in tribute to her mother, Mattie Moss-Clark. The last three songs on the album are slowly becoming my favorites. Listen to them and you'll see why. This album is sure to be a blessing to anyone who purchases it. Be Blessed....And to the writer who said that the lyrics were weak, sometimes it's not how much we say to God, but what we say to God that makes all the difference. I can sing a song that simply says "Lord I Need Your Help" and get God's attention. So let the words minister to you. "My Trust Is In You" and "Right Here With You" are excellent worship material. It speaks of where and in whom are trust and hope lay. I challenge you to increase your level of worship and pretty soon songs that just have a nice and rhythm and rhyme won't be at the top of your list. Once again be blessed.

4.0 out of 5 stars I was truly Blessed, September 30, 2002
This review is from: Twinkie Clark & Friends: Live in Charlotte (Audio CD)
Twinkie is back with her 5th solo album, Live In Charlotte. I really love the first song "Jesus Saves" although it sounds as if Twinkie's voice has changed, somewhat. Somehow it is more falsetto. Other songs that I really loved where: ENDOW ME (sung with the Clark Sisters. The first version of the song is better than this mix, but it still ministers) PRAY FOR THE USA (again, the first version is a little better. This song starts off a little rocky but what saves it is the end part when each vocalists sings different parts. The Clark Sisters appear here again!!) CHRIST IS COMING BACK (Yall, Karen Clark Sheard sings on this song and she knows she shows out!! Karen can sing!! Listen for the high note she hits!! Amazing!!) IT WON'T BE LONG (By Far my favorite song on the album. You will be repeating this song over and over and over....) HERE WITH YOU (the ad-libbing at the end of this song is wonderful!!) Overall, give this album a try. You will be blessed.

I ENJOYED THIS CD. I PLAY IT ABOUT EVRY WEEK. TWINKIE STARTS OFF W THE UPTEMPO "JESUS SAVES", IT WILL MAKE YOU WANT TO DANCE AND PRAISE GOD FOR HIS SAVING GRACE. THE CD THEN GOES TO THE HIGHLIGHT OF THE ABLUM "I'LL NEVER CEASE TO WORSHIP", THIS SONG WILL MAKE YOU WORSHIP AND CRY B/C IT MINSTERS TO THE SOUL AND SPIRIT BUT IT IS A TRUE TESTIMONY OF A SURVIVOR. WE THEN JUMP INTO 2 CLASSIC HITS BY THE CLARK SISTERS "ENDOW ME" & "PRAY FOR THE US" THESE SONGS ONCE AGAIN PROVE WHY THE CLARK SISTERS ARE THE GREATESTS SISTERS OUT THERE. "RIGHT HERE WITH YOU" IS ANOTHER SONG THAT IS VERY TOUCHING. "HE'S COMING BACK AGAIN" REMINDS YOU OF MATTIE MOSS CLARK DAYS; KAREN AND TWINKIE REALLY SING THERE TALE OFF ON THIS SONG. THIS CD IS JUST EXCELLENT. TWINKIE CLARK ONCE AGAIN PROVING SHE IS A VOICE TO BE RECKON WITH!!!!

This is truly one of Twinkie Clarks's most anointed projects. The remake of the Clark Sisters classic, "Endow Me" showcases the depth of Twinkie's ability to skillfully re-arrange a song yet still maintain it's original flavor. "It Won't Be Long" and "My Trust is in You" are my personal favorites but the entire CD ministers. I would strongly recommend adding this CD to your gospel music collection. You will be blessed.

5.0 out of 5 stars WHY SO MANY CRITCS..., September 9, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Twinkie Clark & Friends: Live in Charlotte (Audio CD)
Everybody wants to be a critic these days.

To say that lyrics, such as, "My Trust is In You", "JESUS SAVES", "Endow Me", "PRAY FOR THE USA", and "Worship the KING", are weak; you can't have a RELATIONSHIP with GOD.

I guess this CD is only for those who have and are seeking a RELATIONSHIP with GOD. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. You can criticize the singing and music, but how can you criticize lyrics that are SCRIPTURALLY BASED. A message that GIVES GOD THE GLORY and that is in Alignment with HIS WORD, IS NOT WEAK. GROW IN THE LORD...
