Twinkies known all over the world as a tasty, post-apocalyptic sweet treat and I agree. This is a five star rating system not a complaint forum so I give the Twinkie 5 stars. I especially like the 24-count as a Holiday surprise for everyone. My other 24-count box will go to my workplace cafeteria for individual resale.
When I heard Hostess was going under, the very first thing i did was go on Amazon and buy these as a 'gag' gift for my father for Christmas. The shipping was a bit slow, but they arrived safely and you could smell their freshness through the box... Twinkies have an intoxicating smell. (You have no idea how hard it was not to rip into this box and eat half of them before getting the chance to wrap them up for Christmas. I can still smell it if i think about them.) Anyway... they were a big hit this Christmas! Dad unwrapped them with a nostalgic grin from ear to ear.
The one star is for the guy who is selling ONE twinkie for $19.99 in a 24 count section. Be careful folks if you really have a need for some of the last twinkies! Here you'd be expecting 24 twinkies to show up for $19.99 + S&H, and get just ONE!!! Gimme a break!
I recently purchased two boxes of twinkies from American to be sent to Australia. Firstly they did not arrive within the time frame that was given to me (6 days after maximum date), even though I paid for express post. I was also not informed that they would be out of date by the time they would arrive here in Australia. When I opened them they had sweated inside the bag so they were soggy. Unfortunately it was a complete waste of money, never again!!
