The vitamins recommended by our doctor did not work well for us (Polyvisol) and we found these instead and they work very well. The taste is fine, the babies gobble up their food with these added, and they include the major vitamins, most importantly vitamin D. These do not contain iron, but we give them Happy Bellies cereal which contains the type of iron formulated to be easily absorbed by infants. When the doctor's office measured their iron levels they were fine.

Great vitamin without artificial colors or flavors. The orange flavoring doesn't cover up the nasty vitamin smell/taste though. My baby gags when I give it to him directly in the mouth, so I have to mix it with breastmilk. He also spits almost every time if I don't give it at the end of a feeding, but seems to hold it down well if he's full when I give it. Overall, a great product!

It's very difficult to find an infant to toddler liquid vitamin that contains not only essential vitamins (such as Vitamin D) but more importantly, DHA. DHA is such an important part of a healthy diet, especially for young children (because DHA is essential for brain and eye development and growth). We started our daughter on this particular Vitamin at 6 weeks old (she never noticed when we added them to her bottle) and by 6 months she would actually take the vitamin dropper by mouth (no food/drink needed) though occasionally she would spit some out. Now at 13 months, she knows what vitamins are (she will point to them when asked), she takes the dropper by mouth with no hassle, and even claps her hands when she is done (she honestly seems to appreciate the taste now that she's tried many different types/flavors of food). Young children who haven't tried many flavors should be given time to adapt to this Vitamin's (or any vitamin's) taste (just as you would retry a puree fruit or vegetable multiple times, I wouldn't be so quick to give up on this vitamin with a few "spit outs".) In fact, I went as far as to taste these vitamins myself, and they really aren't half bad. The vast majority of children (including "picky eaters") will most likely adapt to the *slightly* strong (NATURAL (YAY!!)) flavor if encouraged to take these . . . (and honestly, they seem quite unnoticeable in food or drinks if you need to "hide" the added flavor for a child who won't adapt as easily as ours did). We got excited every time our daughter took her vitamins (clapped for her, told her good job etc) and now she gets excited every morning when she takes them (you'd think we were feeding her candy! lol) My daughter's Pediatrician was even impressed with this vitamin (and has since begun recommending it to other patients).Bottom line, I would highly recommend these vitamins to any parent. I feel good knowing my daughter is taking them, and whether the vitamins are the cause or not, she is as healthy as a horse . . . and, lets face it, it's never too early to start healthy habits with kids! :)

The taste is much better than the poly-vi-sol that our ped recomended. Orange flavor, a little bitter and sour. My baby doesn't really "like" it, but he does't hate it as bad as the poly-vi-sol.

Baby Doesnt Like Them,

My baby is not very picky. But she spit these out all over. If I dont have a bib on her, she stains her shirt and anything around her. I have taste tested them and they are a little bitter. I am going to try mixing them with some juice or formula to see if that helps. So far, I am not impressed.

My baby wouldn't take this at all. The smell was so horribly strong. He took Polyvisol with no problem.
