5.0 out of 5 stars "Children will fall in love with the magic of Ernest!"
This is a wonderful story about friendship that captures the importance of accepting each other regardless of our differences. 3.0 out of 5 stars Not so impressed
Such a wonderful idea, but the book did not flow as well as I would have hoped. My little ones got a little bored, and it takes a lot to bore them. But they insist they liked it...so really iffy on this one.

This review is from: Twist and Ernest (Ernest series) (Hardcover)
This is a wonderful story about friendship that captures the importance of accepting each other regardless of our differences. Children will fall for the determined little donkey, Ernest, as he gives the stubborn horse, Twist, a great life lesson in love and friendship. My 6 and 3 year old boys have taken these two characters into their imaginary worlds and now create their own adventures that take place on the farm. The illustrations are masterful and real, yet cuddly enough to capture the attention of pre-reading youngsters. The text is to the point and interesting as the story unfolds. You'll find yourself rooting for the donkey from the outset and when he finds success, you feel the warmth of the bond the two characters have discovered. We hope that there will be more work from this wonderful new author and look forward to reading more about our new friends, Twist & Ernest!

5.0 out of 5 stars Twist & Ernest will bring a smile to your face!, February 25, 2000

This review is from: Twist and Ernest (Ernest series) (Hardcover)
Twist & Ernest is a book that will bring a smile to your face whether you are a child or adult. I could not wait to share it with my girls. We each have our favorite part, but we all agree Ernest is adorable. The story reminds us that everyone has something special to bring to a friendship, a friend can be found in anyone and true friendship is a wonderful thing.

This review is from: Twist and Ernest (Ernest series) (Hardcover)
Bought this book as a Christmas gift for my nieces and nephews (ages 2 - 8). Both art and story were loved by all. Looking forward to the rest of the Ernest books, and I know the kids are too.

I hope there will be more books from Laura Barnes because this is so wonderful. I have given this book to numerous kids who just absolutely fall in love with the characters and story. The smile that this book brings is priceless.

3.0 out of 5 stars Nice enough story with a good moral, June 4, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Twist and Ernest (Ernest series) (Hardcover)
It is appropriate for small children as it does not have "much" happening, but it does have a lovely little moral about friendship and equality.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great experience, December 28, 2007
This review is from: Twist and Ernest (Ernest series) (Hardcover)
My book arrived very quickly and came just as I had been told it would. It was shrink-wrapped to protect it, which was a nice gesture. I am very happy with the purchase!

Really cute book. I gave it to my Grandson on his second birthday and he just loved it. He wanted someone to read it to him right then. Great story and pictures.
