Veterans of the series will immediately wonder why the graphics appears to have taken a massive step backward in quality. All of the cars and scenery (parks, kitchen, movie theater, etc.) are incredibly blocky and lack detail. Small Brawl's visuals are much worse than those of even the first TM game.
TM veterans will also find the controls are different from the other games in the series, and are not nearly as responsive as they should be. At the same time, the action has been pulled back from its frantic, ferocious edge, and the game's traditional dark and foreboding mood has been lightened to make the game more appealing and accessible to kids.
If you enjoy the other Twisted Metal games, Small Brawl offers precious little to get your motor running, as it lacks the intensity or general playability of the motorized mayhem you've come to know and love. Small Brawl is also too drab for anyone over the age of 12 with decent reflexes. However, if you're planning to entertain some younger, would-be metal twisters, it's worth a spin. --Mark Brooks

Fun Game...In Spirit,
By A Customer
This review is from: Twisted Metal Small Brawl (Video Game)
This is a one of the Twisted Metal series sequels that was designed for little kids as opposed to Twisted Metal: Black which is for Twisted Metal fans and those that are fans of gothic humor. It has a good design, although some of the levels are really, really small. You can barely move in them...especially if you are using some of the bigger vehicles. Another good thing though is the use of environmentals (which actually don't suck like in Twisted Metal 3 and 4). The lawnmower with the guy in it, for instance. Also, the hidden levels are pretty cool, especially the bowling alley. However, one critical element is missing: hidden areas! There are virtually none whatsoever! What's the deal? Lastly, the handling of the cars is similar to remote control cars -- acceleration, turning and everything...If you ever owned a remote control car, you'll get the meaning! Well, it's an overall pretty good game, but it could be done better...

when you look at the cover you probboly think, ha ha that game (is bad). i didnt think that because i lovr the twisted metal series!i own them all! and alot of people say it's babyish. no it's not, you get chased by skulls, ground up at a bloody meat factory, chased by a demented farmer on a tractor through an old movie theater, it is just like the old twisted metal games. and you DO get weapons like homing missles, bombs, remote bombs, fire missles and some new ones like enviormental pic-ups and roman candels. there are also some familer charectors like sweettooth, mr.grim, slam, crimson fury, hammerhead, outlaw, warthog, thumper, twister.... well you get the picture. it's a damn good game!

Now, don't mock this game.It was made by TM:Black people.Just because it's for a younger audience doesn't mean that it will be rotten. This very TM game has been rated T for Teen.Check out scea.com for information. You have tp actually PLAY the game, not judge a game by it's cover like 12-year-old-gamer did.
