About the Author
Amaleka McCall has always had a knack for telling a good story. Armed with what her family and friends call a vivid imagination and drama-queen tendencies Amaleka can capture a crowd with a story, leaving them laughing, crying, or on the edge of their seats. As early as age 3, Amaleka would return home from church with her grandmother and relay novel worthy stories about her day hearing the Lords word. Winning accolades in English classes for her writing, Amaleka was always encouraged by her teachers to continue writing. And she did just that, by keeping a daily journal from 8 years old. This was just the beginning of a burgeoning writing career. Amaleka always joked with friends and family saying If I wrote a book about my life it would be a best-seller! In 2003, after giving birth to her second child and finally coming to a point in her life where there was no more drama Amaleka decided to take her journals and her imagination and do something constructive with them. The result was the birth of A Twisted Tale of Karma her first novel. Amaleka never thought that her love of writing and a severe case of insomnia would result in her living her life long dream of being a published author. With ample encouragement from the love of her life, friends, and family Amaleka sent her manuscript to a number of publishers, until finally, Melodrama Publishing, saw something in the story that was real and gave it a chance. Amaleka McCall grew up in the streets of Brooklyn, New York. Growing up fast, she watched street-life destroy many of her family members and friends. Nonetheless, she kept on writing, determined that she would not let the harshness of the streets consume her. Amaleka went on to earn her baccalaureate degree in Criminal Justice from St. Johns University and her Masters in Public Administration from John Jay College of Criminal Justice. Amaleka is hard at work on her second novel. She resides in Northern Virginia with her fiancé, Edmund and her two beautiful daughters Chynna Imani and Amaya Donna.
