Many new Mixes, October 20, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Twisted Tenderness: Deluxe (Audio CD)
The "standard" Twisted Tenderness is outstanding - probably Electronics best. This 2 CD "Deluxe" version is the regular album on disk 1 with 2 new songs on disk 2 along with several remixes of "Prodigal Son". If you are a die hard New Order / Electronic fan, who actually listens to "The Rest of New Order", by all means pick this up. If you just want an outstanding CD, save a few dollars and buy the "standard" version.

Deluxe okay but not great., August 1, 2003
This review is from: Twisted Tenderness: Deluxe (Audio CD)
Unless you get a good deal the deluxe version isn't worth getting as the only track that I listen to all the way through is Prodigal Son (Star In Your Mind mix) even though, ironically, it is the longest track. I consider the first three tracks on Disk 2 to be actually part of the end of Disk 1. The best songs by far are the title track, Prodigal Son, Haze, Vivid, Make It Happen, King for a Day, and the first couple of minutes of Like No Other. I tend to skip over the remaining tracks.

EXcellent All the Way Through!, March 3, 2010
This review is from: Twisted Tenderness: Deluxe (Audio CD)
Nice packaging but bonus material is nothing outstanding, HOWEVER, read my review below and just buy the US bonus tracks original album: This is far and away one of the best albums I own, and that Sumner/Marr have made together, or apart, for that matter. Strong songs all the way through. Especially love Prodigal Son - screaming DRUMS as well as guitar. I love New Order, and while Raise the Pressure is listenable but not great, and while their first album Electronic was brilliant in spots, but patchy overall, Twisted Tenderness is just incredible all the way through - excellent musicianship, production, and modern rocking sound! Better than anything New Order has ever done, and of course nothing like/and cannot touch The Smiths - highly recommneded by a music lover who DOES NOT download.
