5.0 out of 5 stars Bought it just for Van Halen song
I bought this CD (which is getting harder to find) strictly for the Van Halen song "Respect the Wind". That song, to my knowledge, cannot be found anywhere else. It's really done by Edward and Alex Van Halen so it's not "technically" a Van Halen song. Regardless, that song alone made the CD worth buying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Chase the Storm and the Romance......, December 14, 2002
This review is from: Twister: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
Just like the film, this soundtrack of "Twister" has you experiencing all the action and adventure of chasing the storm, to the stormy and unpredictable love affair admist it. Feel the excitment of the chase and the coming of the tornado with songs like "Humans Being" by Van Halen, and "Virtual Realty" by Rusted Root. Experience the hearbreak and the joys of love with romantic ballads "Love Affair" by K.D. Lang and Shania Twain's "No One Needs To Know".Then you'll be thrilled once again by the forces of nature to the tunes of "Twisted" by Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham and "Respect the Wind" by Edward and Alex Van Halen.

This album has something for everyone. It's a great mix, including music by Red Hot Chili Peppers and Mark Knopfler.(see buying info for complete list) If you haven't seen the film, you'll want to after listening to it and if you've already seen it, the album will make you want to watch it again (and vice versa!).

Other great sounds from the screen:Con Air: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and Set It Off: Music From The New Line Cinema Motion Picture [Edited Version]

The "Twister" soundtrack is great to listen to in the car as well as at home....Chase YOUR dreams!....Laurie

I liked this CD.I mainly bought it for the Highlight song "Twisted" by Stevie Nicks...which I like very much.I just couldn't give this CD 5-Stars because there aren't enough good songs on it.

4.0 out of 5 stars Filling the Air with Color, October 5, 2007
By
This review is from: Twister: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
While the movie DVD has been in my player a handful of times since I purchased it, this 11-year-old soundtrack only recently joined my collection courtesy a summer sidewalk sale. My musical tastes usually run toward the softer side; so some of these tracks like Alison Krause & Union Station's "Moments Like This" are more likely to catch my ear. Mark Knopfler's "Darling Pretty" was from his Golden Heart CD that was also released in 1996. It has Knopfler's trademark guitar. K.D. Lang's "Love Affair" was written by Ennio Morricone with lyrics by Streisand's frequently recorded lyricists, Alan & Marilyn Bergman. It is a slow torch song with Lang's beautiful vocals polishing the melody. Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories' song "Now" holds up well, "How does your heart beat? How do you cry?" Shania Twain's "No One Needs to Know" is a bouncy track that plays like a boatload of hooks. Lindsey Buckingham joins Stevie Nicks on her song "Twisted." It's classic Nicks track with appropriate lyric for the film, "The sun goes down filling the air with color; The winds lift you up to God." While Belly & Rusted Roots' contributions are excellent, it's the closing instrumental by Edward & Alex Van Halen that blows me away with the stunning guitar solos and music with an incredible build. Eleven years after its release, this soundtrack CD is a value buy well worth putting into your changer. Enjoy!

4.0 out of 5 stars It's GOOD, June 16, 2008

It's one hell of a soundtrack, and even though I don't listen to Country Music that much, I enjoyed the Country songs on this CD (especially Rusted Root's "Virtual Reality"). Tori Amos's "Talula" is a treat for the ears, while Mark Knopler's "Darling Pretty" is quite brilliant in terms of music. The Goo Goo Dolls's "Long Way Down" and Red Hot Chili Peppers's "Melancholy Mechanics" are something worth listening to. But the standout songs for this soundtrack is Van Halen's "Humans Being" and "Respect the Wind". HB is a flat-out intense rock song guaranteed to satisfy every Van Halen fan on earth (but it's too bad that this song was what led to Hagar's departure). RTW is an almost ambient guitar solo, accompanied by keyboards, that was the perfect background music for the film's end credits. The only song I didn't like was Shania Twain's "No One Needs to Know", didn't really get me.

So if you like the movie, then you'll admire this CD once you finish listening to it the first time.

4.0 out of 5 stars Diverse mix of music, December 15, 2000
This review is from: Twister: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I really like this cd, but then I love all types of music. Because there is such a diverse range of styles, it may not appeal to everyone. People who love the country sounds of Alison Krauss and Shania Twain may not like the hard rock/alternative tracks by Van Halen, Soul Asylum and Rusted Root, and vice-versa. But if you too, are a lover of all types of musical genres then I am sure you will like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars The song Mystery, March 21, 2006
This review is from: Twister: Music From The Motion Picture Soundtrack (Audio CD)
It is Deep Purple...it is not the song A200. The song is "Child In Time". The only thing is he is playing song at about half way (not from the beginning)and it is a live version.
