5.0 out of 5 stars If You Haven't A Clue; This Book Is For You!, September 13, 2009
This review is from: Twitter Marketing: Promote Yourself and Your Business on Earth's Hottest Social Network (Paperback)
Twitter Marketing is a terrific, easy-to-read book, for people who have a business, products or self to market, but who haven't a clue to on how to use the highly powerful free social-networking site called Twitter. Author Steve Weber takes the novice by the hand and explains everything one needs to know to begin the Twitter journey -- and then some. The text of this book is very readable and doesn't overwhelm the reader with too much information. It's written in a personal style that is the next best thing to sitting down with the author and having him tell you just what to do to get started. Weber offers some great personal advice for those who want to start in the "shallow end of the pool." The book also offers some advanced tips and great third-party site recommendations, but most of it focuses on helping brand-new tweeters. A terrific, non-technical basic guide for beginners.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twitter is not pointless!, September 4, 2009
This review is from: Twitter Marketing: Promote Yourself and Your Business on Earth's Hottest Social Network (Paperback)
I created a Twitter account not long after it was created. Once I had the account, I thought, "Twitter is completely pointless, and it seems to be a condensed version of Facebook updates." I still think it's a condensed version of Facebook updates, but I don't think it's useless anymore.

I just finished reading "Twitter Marketing," and I was amazed at some of the companies' success stories, using Twitter to promote their business. I also hadn't considered some of the author's suggestions into making Twitter a valuable resource for marketing. One of the most valuable aspects of tweets is that they can appear in Google searches.

I think Twitter might be a good replacement for MySpace and Facebook when it comes to marketing your business or your product. I get the impression that MySpace users get annoyed when someone wants to be their MySpace friend just so they can promote their music, etc. And Facebook users don't really have to worry about spammers. People on Twitter will only follow you if they choose to.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent guide to Twitter, September 23, 2009
This review is from: Twitter Marketing: Promote Yourself and Your Business on Earth's Hottest Social Network (Paperback)
I am relatively new to Twitter but was impressed by how much information the author was able to pack into a little over a hundred pages. This book goes into setting up your Twitter account and comparisons with the other major social networking sites. The book then launches into the finer details of navigating Twitter, exploring common myths about Twitter, personalizing your account, building your following, tweeting at the next level, etc. It's a lot of pertinent information in a very small space and easily worth twice the cost. I recommend this book highly; it is probably the best possible introduction to Twitter available. And it came out earlier this month, so it is also timely!
