I was an early Twitter adopter. I used it constantly for personal and business and it was a great tool. Then I got caught up into Facebook more and more, and let Twitter slide. I started believing that it was not as effective as Facebook because of the 140 character limitation.

Then my long time Twitter friend Don Power came out with Twitter for Skeptics. I was, ironically, skeptical that it would teach me anything, that it would convince me to start using Twitter again. His initial data about the truth of Facebook's engagement levels got me thinking, and Chapter 5, I don't have time to Tweet, made me realize I needed to get back into it.

Now I am a happy Twitter user for myself (@chucklasker), my business (@socialkauai) and my clients. Get the book. It does more than just convince you to use Twitter, it tells you HOW.

I read Twitter for Skeptics in one sitting. It's short, written in easy language, and is perfect for that business person asking themselves "Why should I bother with Twitter?" Even as a non-business person and an avid user of this social media platform, I found it inspirational and fun.

I've used Twitter personally for years, but had not moved my company's twitter feed beyond a one-way announcement broadcast medium for daily / weekly updates of what's happening at the company. As such, we never saw much value in it. Don offers easy, practical explanations on how to truly leverage the interactive, intimate nature of Twitter to engage with your customers and use it as an integral component of the business for: customer support, encouraging advocacy, researching customer opinions and trends.

We're definitely rethinking our social media plan because of this book. Not something I was thinking we would do, but I'm actually excited now about the possibilities. A great find.

This was a great read and there are a lot of things I had not considered in using Twitter as part of my social marketing engine. I recommend this book to anyone who thinks Facebook or Google+ are the only platforms for reaching a targeted audience for business or event marketing.

When I met Don, I was not a twitter skeptic. In fact, just the opposite. I am an advocate, frustrated at not being able to effectively convey my love of twitter and reasons why I recommend it to all...

Don explains it, convincingly, in a #nutshell

I highly recommend this book for anyone who, like me, already loves Twitter, and is looking for ways to explain it's benefits to others.
