There are literally millions of books, and this one is no exception.

Flip it open for a quick lol. Start at the beginning to experience the story in its intended sequence. Or maybe read several pages and then skip to the end to see if you solved the mystery correctly. Twitter Wit lets you decide, as Douglas guides us on a dark journey into the minds of some...

3.0 out of 5 stars There's "wit!" and there's wit. This is wit.
The book is small, so cover to cover it doesn't take long to read. I sat down to read it prepared to laugh. But, for me it wasn't laugh-out-loud humor, although I may have chuckled once or twice while reading it. It isn't that I don't like Twitter or short, pithy quotes. I have used Twitter for quite awhile and know that there is a ton of humor to be found in its posts --...

There are literally millions of books, and this one is no exception.

Flip it open for a quick lol. Start at the beginning to experience the story in its intended sequence. Or maybe read several pages and then skip to the end to see if you solved the mystery correctly. Twitter Wit lets you decide, as Douglas guides us on a dark journey into the minds of some of Twitter's most underemployed layabouts. Along the way, he examines the human condition and whatever.

This is totally the Dances With Wolves of Twitter books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Physically Satisfying, August 27, 2009
This review is from: Twitter Wit (Kindle Edition)
I gave this book five stars even though it is not literally the most perfect book ever made. (That would be a little book I like to call Auto Repair For Dummies.) Here is a very even-handed review of the book:

PROS:
* Rolls up easily into a tube to serve as a make-shift telescope with startlingly clear 1:1 magnification
* Will work in a pinch to kill insects smaller than the book, if swung with gusto and palpated terror
* Contains tweets from many of my friends
* Found in the top drawer of every hotel room in which Nick Douglas has ever stayed
* Includes handy pull-out section for you to write in your own tweets
* Puzzles: Some tweets contain secret, anagrammed messages! (Page 82 has a DOOZY)

CONS:
* Also contains tweets from several of my mortal enemies (YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE)
* Covers are very floppy, almost like they're made out of paper
* Smells delightfully of lilac
* Will bring a smile to the grumpiest of literate faces
* Prompts everyone who was in the book to write a silly review of it
* No answer key or teacher's edition

In the end, your annoying insect infestation won't stand a chance against this tiny powerhouse. I WILL IGNORE ALL REBUTTALS OF THIS REVIEW FROM INSECTS AND INSECTOIDS.

EDIT #1 8/28/2009:
The book is looking at me.

EDIT #2 8/29/2009:
Grammer, punctuation, and cockney rhyming slang corrections.

I'm in this book. To be clear I wrote a little tiny bit of this book. I haven't read "all" of the book, but I read what I wrote... in theory.

5.0 out of 5 stars I'm not kidding., September 14, 2009
This review is from: Twitter Wit: Brilliance in 140 Characters or Less (Paperback)
First, notice the cover. Look how the word "wit" is right under the "wit" in Twitter. That's really cool. And see how the bird seems to be SAYING "twitter wit" because of the little bubble coming out of his mouth? If that bird were actually Tweeting, or "tweeting," the words "twitter wit," he'd have, like, 129 characters left.

Then there's the kind of MS-Paint looking white box below the bird's tweet. Doesn't it look kinda MS-Paint-y? And shouldn't it be "Brilliance in 140 Characters or _fewer_?" Pretty dodgy editing there, guy.

The stuff inside, IIRC, is okay, but I don't RC. It's like a meal that you eat while you're talking, and you can't really remember it, but the burps later might clue you in to what you just ate. And my burps taste really funny, so I imagine the book's pretty good.

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally, some help explaining Twitter to your mom., August 26, 2009
This review is from: Twitter Wit: Brilliance in 140 Characters or Less (Paperback)
With Twitter Wit, Mr. Douglas has struck a chord. A chord deep in the psyche of human consciousness or some such thing. Following in the tradition of Honoré de Balzac and Bartlett's Familiar Quotations, Douglas throws open the window of literary illumination on the often vexing world of Twitter, revealing a universe of wit, intelligence, irreverence, and a complete disregard for the productive use of time.

So order this book, and see what all the fuss is about. Once you read it, you will never not have read it. And your mom will be that much closer to understanding either you or me. Guaranteed.

I can't wait to see what offensive thing I said about your mom got published in this book.

EDIT: now that I've seen the book, I'm sorry to say that I didn't mention your mother at all. however, I'm proud of Nick for finally figuring out how to monetize my vagina.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Magic, August 25, 2009
This review is from: Twitter Wit: Brilliance in 140 Characters or Less (Paperback)
I wouldn't say this book is a wondrous tome of magical incantations. That would be silly. BUT let's not forget that Harry Potter has been carrying around the first draft of this book since before his crystal balls dropped and he's got MAD MAGIC SKILLS. He's also brilliant with the ladies. Draw your own conclusions.

This is the high-point of my creative oeuvre. It totally beats out that short story I wrote about Bert and Ernie in eighth grade.
