1.0 out of 5 stars Far better books on Twitter, January 31, 2010
By
This review is from: The Twitter Workbook (Paperback)
I had high hopes for this book as I'm just getting up to speed on social media marketing (Twitter, Facebook, etc.) and a "user's guide to the whys, hows and whos of the Twitterverse" sounded like just the ticket. Well, "The Twitter Workbook" was a HUGE letdown. The information on setting up a Twitter account is barely okay. Very basic but it ended there. I found the case studies to be not only annoying but useless. Because changes and updates in social media occur so frequently, David Haslam promised readers that "between new releases of the book, we will put any updates on the HMSI Publications website" ([...]). What a deal I thought. NOT! I visited the rather amateurish website and found very little information at all much less any instructions on how to register my copy of the book. If you want to learn the basics of Twitter, read Tim O'Reilly/Sarah Milstein's "The Twitter Book." Actually, every other Twitter book that I've read (checked out of the library or purchased) surpasses this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars #TTWB is a great way to get started on Twitter!, June 29, 2009

This review is from: The Twitter Workbook (Paperback)
The Twitter Workbook (#TTWB) has given me Insights into how to effectively start using Twitter as a potent business tool. The mix of straight forward "how to" with case studies of accomplished users balances the mechanics with real world examples that illustrate the potential of this tool. David R. Haslam wrote this book in a way that makes it current and allows you to register your copy to keep current on updates. As a relatively new user of Twitter I wish I had this book 8 weeks ago before I started. It would have made my initial forays more thought out and, I am sure, more profitable. The Twitter Workbook

5.0 out of 5 stars Unlocks the potential Twitter posesses, July 3, 2009
This review is from: The Twitter Workbook (Paperback)
The Twitter Workbook is a great read for Tweeters of all experience levels. David R Haslam guides you through the Twitterverse and tells you everything you want to know about this social networking platform. He also reveals the potential that Twitter holds as a networking and marketing tool. Included in the book is a step-by-step guide on how to get started on Twitter for beginners and several case studies which illustrate the power of Twitter. What I most liked about the book was how the author included personal stories and references when introducing main points in the book. It felt like I was having a one-on-one conversation with the author over a nice cup of coffee or tea. This made for an engaging read and gave the book a personal touch- something that can't be found in any old book or manual about Twitter. If you are a Tweeter of any experience level, this book is a must read.
