More About the Author

When Jacob graduated college with honors and a double major, he thought the world was his oyster. At his first job he was promised an exciting opportunity to work on interesting projects and travel the U.S., instead he was stuck doing data entry and creating power-point presentations while commuting 1.5 hours each way. The day the CEO asked him to get coffee was the day he knew he had to get out of there. Since then, Jacob has been fascinated with how the world of work is changing and has been studying it ever since. Jacob went off on his shortly after that experience and hasn't worked for anyone else ever since.

Today, Jacob Morgan is principal at Chess Media Group, a management consulting and strategic advisory firm on the future of work and collaboration. Morgan is a globally recognized thought leader on the future of work and how collaborative technologies are impacting the way work gets done. Jacob's new book, "The Future of Work," (Wiley Sept. 2014) explores how employees of the future will work, how managers of the future will lead, and how organizations of the future will be structured. His previous book, "The Collaborative Organization," (McGraw Hill 2012) became an Amazon best-seller and is the first and only comprehensive strategy guide on how organizations can successfully deploy collaboration technologies to solve internal business problems.

Jacob's books have been endorsed by global leaders such as the chief information officer of the United States of America, CEO and founder of Craigslist, CEO of SAP, Gary Hamel, President of Whirlpool International, CEO of Unisys, CEO of Zappos, CEO of Schneider Electric, Chair of the MIT Sloan Management Review, and dozens of others.

Jacob authors the widely read blog, and also has a regular column for Forbes. He speaks at conferences around the world and has been featured in media outlets such as The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, NPR, CNN, Inc Magazine, and many others.

He is also launching a membership community dedicated to the future of work and collaboration at:

I loved this book. Not only did it answer all my questions on how to connect with clients using social media but it was also a very enjoyable read. This book was packed with information from using Twitter to connect with clients, to search engine optimization, to using tools to understand and track your return on investment. I would recommend this book to anyone.

The authors of twittfaced provide the reader of this book with perfect knowledge about the today's social media tools. The data is figured out well and offers the reader an opportunity to tailor social media solutions for her own business.

Starting with forming a general understanding about social media and how businesses can gain from it, it leads to a detailed information and introduction about the different and status-quo social media networks. Thereby, the reader receives valuable data about traffic and demographic information about different social networks.

The authors of this book did a great job in providing a all-you-need-know guide for social media greenhorns and those how want to build new business success by using social networks.

For those who are new to Social Media and need direction in starting their business or personal doings in this new field. The book is (as the title says) simple and straightfoward. Talks about what social media is, the popular uses and sites for social media, social media mistakes and etiquette, and perhaps the most useful part to me (since I already knew about the majority of the sites) the additional add-ons, plugins, and other online tools that can help you in your online endeavors. Just the right amount of examples and everything is easily understood and read (I love a well designed book).
