Pat Boone was one of the most popular young men of his time. This book was written when he was 24, already an entertainer, and father of four daughters. In 1953 Pat won the Ted Mack amateur hour (the equivalent to today's American Idol) and began appearing on the Arthur Godfrey show. Since then, his records sold more than 20 million copies and he had his own television show and made several movies. Pat and his wife Shirley were teen-age steadies in Nashville, Tennessee. The married at 19 and moved to Texas so Pat could attend North Texas State College. He completed his college work at Columbia University. In addition to his other work, Pat continued his church work.
