4.0 out of 5 stars Very fascinating book.
I spent a large amount of time studying this subject, (Nimrod, the history of modern Christianity in relation to pagan worship, Baal, etc....) This book is great! I only gave it four stars simply because of the migraine I received after reading it. You may need a magnifying glass, or perhaps a microscope to read this. I think the best refutation for this comes from Ralph Woodrow, author of "The Babylon Connection?" Here's what he has to say NOW>>>

4.0 out of 5 stars Very fascinating book., September 6, 2005
This review is from: The Two Babylons: Or, the Papal Worship Proved to Be the Worship of Nimrod (Paperback)
I still couldn't put this book down and it was well worth the headache!

Let me explain a little more, when I say you will need a microscope, well I mean the text in the book I had was very small. I mean VERY SMALL. I perhaps lost a bit of my eyesight for a few days, but as I mentioned before, this book is very good. There is a ton of footnotes and references as well. You will see many illustrations to go along with the topic. If you are doing research on this subject, this book is a great tool. It's a great realization book as well. It should really get you to thinking deeply about the modern holidays and 'holy days' you worship.

The basis of this book, or the grounds is to basically prove that modern Christianity is founded on pagan worship. We're going back to the days of Nimrod, Babylon, idoltry, pagan practices. It goes into Mother Mary worship, Easter, Sunday Sabbath, Chrismas, symbols such as the cross, worshipping the dead...etc...

I would honestly say this book was very eye-opening. OK, literally it was eye-straining, but I did very much enjoy reading the content.

You really must read this book! Again, I would have given it five stars, but oh the strain on your eyes! It is still worth it!

5.0 out of 5 stars TOTALLY AWESOME WORK, January 4, 2004

Linda Carter (Philadelphia, PA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Two Babylons: Or, the Papal Worship Proved to Be the Worship of Nimrod (Paperback)
I read this book a long time ago. It is packed with incredible details outlining the origins of paganism, myths, legends, and their influence on religions of today. For anyone who is not afraid of FACTS AND TRUTH. Not for those who want to hang on to their religious traditions, and the doctrines and commandments of men. For example: how did we get Christmas on December 25, Easter with bunnies and eggs; Greek, Roman, and many other countries' legends and myths? It's all here, and much much more, documented with unbelievable detail and scholarship.

Well researched. Hislop does an excellent job of exposing the pagan roots of the Catholic church.

5.0 out of 5 stars the two babylons, June 8, 2011
this is a heavy duty book...it takes a lot of focus. i have read it 3 times and still everytime i read it i learn so much because there is just too much to retain in a single reading. i also have to read it in small increments...it is a very detailed book about paganism and how it has been covertly practiced in the name of christianity. Also talks about the paganistic link of holidays...it addresses the historical religious practices of babylonians and egyptians and their strong affect on modern beliefs, specifically the chaldean practices that are now ritualistically practiced in the roman catholic church

5.0 out of 5 stars The 2nd Book EVERY true Christian should read!, September 24, 2010
This review is from: The Two Babylons: Or, the Papal Worship Proved to Be the Worship of Nimrod (Paperback)
This is the 2nd Book EVERY true Christian should read! After your Holy Bible, dear believers, this is the book you need to read, study and share! You are warned--the world will be a different place. My eyes are opened! We are no longer tainted with pagan-soaked false 'christianity'--Thank You God! I am so thankful God put this in my hands! You can print this book free from a certain website--easy enough to find on your own--but, after all the highlighting, underlining and side notes through my study, I wanted a bounded "keeper" copy. Hand it to your pastor!

I found this book to back up what I had learned and heared for many years. This book shows us just how Pagan in traditions we really are. The pagan tradition are not backed up by the BIBLE at all. Christianty has a lot of house cleaning to do, and to throught out, many false teachings & Pagan traditions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good reference bok, June 7, 2009
This review is from: The Two Babylons: Or, the Papal Worship Proved to Be the Worship of Nimrod (Paperback)
Informative, great reference work. Probably not one to read from cover to cover but great to look up specific topics any time you want. Makes for a fascinating look at the origins of so many customs we take for granted as coming from God's word but in fact predate Christianity. It's a book more people should certainly know about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Dont believe the author check it out, March 13, 2000
This review is from: The Two Babylons: Or, the Papal Worship Proved to Be the Worship of Nimrod (Paperback)
This was one of the first books that I read related to African Origins of science and civilization. The work speaks for itself. For any skeptics, please take the time to research the facts stated in this book. If anyone has a hard time believing anything that is written in this book, please research (You can even use yahoo.com as a search tool) "Mitochondrial Eve" and open the door to the past.
