From the bestselling author of THIN BLOOD

"Vicki Tyley's short story doesn't disappoint. You'll finish it in no time, and if you think you know the murderer before the end of the story, you'll probably guess wrong. Ms. Tyley is good at that." - Book Boogie

5.0 out of 5 stars PULP! May 2, 2013

An excellent short work. The kind of thing we lost with the great days of the old pulp era of popular magazine fiction. Recommended!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great mystery that keep me guessing until the end! August 7, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
For a short story, it was packed with suspense! I never thought that a short story, such as this one, could hold my attention so strongly. I keep changing my guess on who was the killer and was still wrong in the end!! Amazing short story!! Great mystery, the ending really made me do a double take. I read the ending twice just to be sure I read it right. I finally understand the title now!! Love it!! I recommend this short story!!

It took me awhile to get into reading short stories because they are new to me. I have a list of my favorite new authors that I check every few days to see if their new book is out. I checked earlier and saw Vicki Tyley had written a short story and I quickly bought it and read it in no time. I have to say that Vicki's short story is as great as her full length book stories. I am amazed at how much information a short story can provide with such vital information and makes the reader unable to guess who the perpetrator/s may be.
I have read every book Ms. Tyley has written and her amazing talent makes it difficult for me to guess who the perp. is. A lot of guessing on my part and I have guessed wrong in everything Vicki has written.

I thought for sure and said "Ah ha, how difficult can it be to finally guess the correct perp. in a short story." Well with Vicki's awesome talent, she once again has proven me wrong at who the pert. was. I guess she can now say " Ah ha, fooled you again Alice" :>)

What a great short story Ms. Tyley !!

I recommend Two Birds (A Short Mystery) by Vicki Tyley and I will gift this book to other Kindle friends.

5.0 out of 5 stars A well-written short story! August 9, 2013
By V G
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After misplacing my Kindle for several months and really slacking off when it came to non-school-oriented reading, I felt I needed a good short story to ease myself back into reading for pleasure. I picked a great story to help re-acquaint myself with my former passion. Having the attention span of a gnat going into this (thanks to modern media and my beloved bedtime cartoon programs ritual), I was thankful that the action began right away. Patience isn't exactly one of my virtues when it comes to literature, so the beginning definitely helped to get me going. From that point it was a tense and suspenseful ride, right up until the last page!
I definitely recommend this story to anyone looking for a good short mystery to read while at the beach (like I was) or anywhere. It's short enough to read in one sitting but will stay with you for the rest of the day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Brrrr... November 22, 2013
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
What a cold little story! Very well written and very dark. The author performs a literary sleight of hand that has you looking in every direction but the right one. Then has the killer walk away whistling.

I will definitely be reading more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Short, sharp & shocking November 16, 2013
By Ketta
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Short stories are an art form and Vicki Tyley has produced a masterpiece here. If good things come in small packages, then this is a miniature, concise, and unexpected package that will keep you guessing right to the end. It had great characterization and a unique twist; it was missing the usual typos, spelling errors and bad grammar that many have come to associate with free book offerings. Highly recommended.

This is a crisp, well paced story. I enjoyed the vivid imagery the author creates with a few, well chosen words. I didn't see the end coming either.

Ms. Tyley has successfully managed to put all the pieces, (murder, investigation, and solution), together into a surprisingly interesting story.

4.0 out of 5 stars Two birds
Short and unremarkable. Tyley twisted the tale until it winded around to a satisfactory ending. Don't work in this time of blood.
