It was the perfect size for a pocket whittling knife.
Lloyd Marshall
The curved handle fits their hands well, and the short blades are easier to work with than a traditional-length pocketknife blade.

Awesome knife for the price, amazing starter, came in razor sharp, stays sharp for a long time, the larger of the two blades is good for carving larger areas, and the smaller blade is better for the tiny details, one of the best pocket carving knifes youre gonna find for under 100

Bought 2 of these and not disappointed at all. Good quality and good for carving. I did change the angle of the cutting edge a little but nothing to complain about here.

We've gotten two of these for our daughters (ages 9 & 10) and they love them. The curved handle fits their hands well, and the short blades are easier to work with than a traditional-length pocketknife blade.

Pretty little knife! The finish on the handle and the wood used for the "scales" are really quite beutiful. Definitely small enough to fit in your pocket easily.

My only complaint is that the care lavished on the exterior finish was not also lavished on the sharpening. This knife is described as a "carving" knife, but the edge is beveled at an angle more suitable to a typical jack knife or kitchen knife, not the more acute angle advocated by chip carving gurus and typical of specialized specialized wood carving knives like Flexcut products. It's quite sharp, but as at least one other reviewer remarked it could use a better stropped-like-a-razor edge if it's going to be used for wood carving.

Notably the blades do not lock in place when open like Flexcut products do. On the plus side the thumbnail notch for opening the the knife is well placed and of ample size, making the knife much easier to open safely than my "Flexcut Pocket Jack for Carvin" knife.

The blades are normal cheap blades, but that is not the problem. The blades are really tiny, but that's not the problem and the truth is that is why I bought one of these. I always carry a knife and bit of bass wood to carve on with me, and have for going on fifty years now. No, the one star is because this knife was not safe. The blades are loose. They will wobble and close on you. Working with such a small knife puts your hand right in the business, and if these blades skip or fold you could end up with a cut or nick. Your only saving grace is the fact that they dull quickly, so you might only get a pinch. If you are starting out, and want an inexpensive blade go with http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001UBN96A/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER a much safer blade. If you want to know what a good blade is like go with a flexcut or Case http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Dsporting&field-keywords=seahorse%20whittler&sprefix=seahorse+wh%2Csporting .
