This is one of my top five Shaw brother movies. Original VENOMS, cool story, LOT'S OF ACTION. You may not wanna watch it with your little brother because so many people die in this movie. Sholin gets revenge on Wu Tang, Wu Tang strikes back, over and over and over, until the WU Tang commit an unforgivable offense. Bloodthirsty Kung fu fans will enjoy. A must have.

5.0 out of 5 stars "THE GAME OF CHESS/IS LIKE A SWORDFIGHT......., January 31, 1999
By A Customer
This Movie is one of the best martial arts movies ever made by the shaw brothers. From the opening cinematics of the Wutang soldier battling the Shaolin warriors, this movie will have you at the edge of your seat. For all you hip hop headz i'm sure you will remember some of the quotes of this movie in various Wu-Tang Clan albums.

RECOMMENDATION: MUST HAVE!!!

You may not wanna watch this one with your little brother. Sooo many people die in this movie it's insane. Cool story, plenty of action, original Venoms, need I say more? Sholin gets revenge on Wu Tang, Wu Tang strikes back, back and forth until Wu Tang viscously crosses the line. You have got to see it.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Venoms in one of their most impressive performances, October 10, 2002
The Venoms never EVER cease to stupify me with their hypnotic and god-like martial arts sequences. Chang Cheh once again takes the helm and the result is a lesson in kung fu perfection. Granted, the movie does drag in the middle but the beginning contains some of the best fight scenes ever conceived and the end... well if you're a Venoms fan already you know what to expect. The most insane display or martial ingenuity ever conceived that will blow your freakin' mind and make you nearly jump from your seat and utter profanities uncontrollably. The Venoms strike again and this is one dose of the poison clan that will leave you intoxicated with wonder and amazement.

5.0 out of 5 stars Gordon Liu's directing debut Masterpiece, July 21, 1999
By A Customer
You'll find yourself rewinding the beginning a few times before you even continue the movie. As usual when Gordon Liu stars in a movie, it's top notch Kung Fu without the sometimes ridiculous overuse of sound effects and folk lore physical abilities. It's up there with the best. Get it, watch it, keep it.

4.0 out of 5 stars excellent traditional martial arts movie, February 26, 1999
By A Customer
This movie is for the martial arts buff that likes the old school kung fu flicks in the tradtional form. Its not your basic karate flick plot of revenge over a masters death but it focuses on loyalty between two friends from rival schools.gordon liu also has a great perfrmance in it.The opening sequence is worth the purchase price alone. As irrelevant as it is if your into the rap group WU TANG CLAN watching this movie will have you blasting your stereo afterwards. Its a good time

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Two Champions of Death (DVD)
A treasure for me, as this was a Venoms film I'd never seen or even heard of before spotting it on Amazon. It's a good print, though not anamorphic as with Five Deadly Venoms and one or two of the others. The plot is predictably convoluted and lame, but apart from the Venoms (with Philip Kuo Tsui noticeably absent...?!) there are plenty of familiar faces from other Venoms efforts. The sets and costumes look to have barely been changed from Killer Army, but at the end of the day (or should I say night? There's something extremely nocturnal about these flicks), who cares as long as the combat's good, and it is. Lots of treachery, poison needles, ambushes and noble villains, all the classic elements are here. Highly recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars The indrocuction of Chin Siu-hou, October 5, 2006
This review is from: Two Champions of Death (DVD)
This is the first movie ever credited to Chin Siu-hou who co-starred with Jet Li in 'Twin Warriors' and 'Fist of Legend'. This story has got all kinds of stuff going down. Pai Mei is looking to take down Shaolin, the Wudang have these flying daggers that Sun Chien will have to take care of, and then heroes like San Te, Fong Sai Yuk, and many others show up. Lo Meng and the acrobatic Chiang Sheng are the main stars. Plenty of fights, though not wall to wall, all of the fights were good. When Lu Feng finally throws down it cannot be missed. Also this is a Chang Cheh film so we know how it is going to end, but we also know that it will be super violent. A guy gets his nuts ripped off, so yes it is certainly a classic Venoms film introducing a new wonderful new player-Chin Siu-hou.

The Red Sun version of this movie is perfectly letterboxed with crystal clear picture and good English dubed sound. So obviously seek out the Red Sun version over the Groundzero.
