We discovered this book after my nephew enjoyed it so much. I searched high and low for a copy, and after finding it began to read it to my now 20 month old son. He loves looking at the pictures, especially of the cow playing the piano on the far side of the moon. He also began looking for Millie and Maude in the midst of cow festivities. I love to read the story aloud - the cadence and rhythm are engrossing. It has become a favorite gift for friends with young children.

I am five years old, and my name is Elly. My kindergarden teacher read this book to us at school. I love it. I wanted to bring it home. It's very good, and it's very funny. There is a funny picture with all the cows dancing on the moon. They're wearing people clothes.

Complimented by fabulous illustrations that fill every spot on the page with bold colors, the sing-song rhythms of this book makes for a great good night story. It is silly, and funny, and my two boys enjoyed it almost as much as me! I really like the bugity bog, and the names of the children. Over 100 children's books have passed through our possession over the past 9 years, and this is one that will not get passed along. I have a spot for it on my own bookshelf when we are done reading it together. Be sure to practice reading it a few times to yourself so you can read it well out loud.

Author Toby Speed and Artist Barry Root are a great tandem; their masterpiece "Brave Potatoes" remains one of my favorite books of all time. This earlier book doesn't match that greatness, but it's pretty good in its own right.

Kids (and adults) enjoy the ridiculous, be it illustrations or story circumstance. Silliness abounds in this story of cows in boots traveling to the moon to feast on moon grass and play sports while four children wait longingly for them back on Earth.

With words like pickety,buggity, wickedy, thickety, Huckabuck, and Hillimadoon, Two Cool Cows makes for a great oral reading event. Its large, grand pages splashed with dancing and bongo playing cows add to the fun.

I loved the great rhyme, rhythm and word choice in this book, so I had to read it to my second graders. They loved it too and were inspired to write about unusual, imaginary things that their pets might do. A great book to use with six trait writing instruction !

The illustrations are very good, the story is great...a new twist on the cow that jumped over the moon. What is most enjoyable for me and my children is how wonderfully it's written. It has good rhymes, wonderful rhythm, and is very creative. This book will create an imagination where there is none. My son says "Will you sing me the Two Cool Cows song again?"...because the words flow so well, he thinks it's a song! A terrific book.

This title has become my new favorite book to give as a gift to friends who have become new grandmas. When it is read aloud the cadence of this bovine-adventure is a lullaby to anyone who grew up with the sounds and (yes, the smells) of life on a farm. As a grandma from WisCOWsin it has been the perfect book to bring back the summer memories of my own childhood and then share the fantasy of those memories. This is a fun, fun read-aloud book and makes me happy as I read it to my grandsons and share memories of a part of my history.

Of all the books I read to my daughter as a young child, Two Cool Cows is my favorite and a good thing too because I bet I read it 500 times. It has a good rythym and cadence and is fun to read. The pictures are whimsical and well done. Check out the sequel Brave Potatos. It is not as good but still better than Dr Seuss.

Two Cool Cows was one of my favorite children books. It is funny and keeps you wondering what's going to happen next. The illustrations made it easier to make sense. I hope you like it too.

This book is so much fun!! My kids love to hear it read, and best of all I love two read it!! It has a fun rhyme to it and a crazy spin off of the cow jumps over the moon rhyme. A must have for any young library. I started reading this to my kids when they were first born and now three years later, they still absolutely love it!
