This cd is one of the funniest I have heard in a long time. Mike Birbiglia's "Two Drink Mike" cd is well worth the money. My friends and I love this cd and find ourselves quoting it constantly. Check out this cd so that the next time someone says "You'd be suprised" you'll know what they are talking about :)

You are at risk of driving off the road, because it is so so funny. We saw Mike Birbiglia at a taping of ESPN2's "Cheap Seats," and thought he was hilarious; we really flipped out when we got the record. Birbiglia's style of humor is droll and somewhat reserved, personal; his delivery is energetic though and he's a dynamic performer, as the accompanying DVD showcases. Buy this CD right now! Right now, I say!

Someone wrote that Mike Birbiglia is the next Bob Sagat? Bob Sagat is an actor. NOT a comedian. Trust me. Two Drink Mike is funny all the way through. Mike makes comments about things we all can relate to. Comments that we are all thinking, but were afraid people would laugh at us. Wait..I guess thats the point. Dammit Mike! I should have thought of that! A lot of stand up comedy doesn't translate well to audio only. Mike's stuff does without a hitch. I don't know what that means. I guess if you have a hitch, you can do extraordinary things. Mike doesn't need one. The entire album feels natural and is easy to laugh at. I only wish it was longer. If I HAVE to be honest, there are a couple of bits with guitar at the end of the album that I could do without. I don't care for the guitar comedy kind of stuff. But even those bits made me laugh. If my Two Drink Mike CD got stolen or lost, I would buy it again. That is the best compliment I can give. Good job Mike!

The title of Mike Birbiglia's 2006 release refers to what a lightweight he is. Couple drinks and he's doing magic tricks and dancing, but without the booze he's a guy who likes biographies, has serious opinions about wildlife, and is really good at drinking hot chocolate. That is what's great about Two Drink Mike, Birbiglia projects a humble attitude that's approachable, endearing even, but it leads to material that can be Steven Wrightstrange and just as hilarious. Course Wright could be from Mars while Birbiglia is the weird kidnextdoor grownup and adjusted to the world outside just enough to get by. Imagine a protected kid from the suburbs devouring BET's hiphop programming and you've got an idea of how Birbiglia relates. He's enthusiastic about the blingbling lifestyle he sees on MTV Cribs but worries the rappers are dying inside and crying out for attention with their rims and grills. Gay cats, why parents can't understand computers, and the cockiness of handing Kleenex out before funerals are hot topics, and if it seems at first like Birbiglia is just a stream of consciousness guy like Wright; the trick of Two Drink Mike is how well it flows before exiting on a handful of hilarious musical numbers. Containing mostly different material than the CD, the bonus DVD of older performances is clumsier and features a more straightlaced looking, not as comfortable performer. You can study a comedian honing his craft by analyzing the two discs, or you can just sit back and listen to the arrival of standup's next big thing.

This CD showcases one of stand-up comedies brightest acts. This CD outshines Dog Years and any comedy central or video bytes I have seen online-- the only thing better is to see him live. Birbiglia is the kind of comic who wears a backback to a swanky after benefit bar party. He is simply amazing, with the kind of clean (ish) original humor of Hedberg.
PS dont do the amazon buy dog years and two drink together thing, unless you are a hardcore fan-- they feature a lot of the same material.
If Mike comes to town, you and all your friends and aunties need to go see him.

i have been a fan for years and was so excited to get my hands on Two Drink Mike. I brought it on a roadtrip with my friends who had, unfortunately, never heard of him at the time but they are both definitely fans now. We all had moments where we had to pause the cd because we were laughing so hard. His sense of humor and honesty make Mike Birbiglia the type of comedian you would love to hang out with!!! His comedy is so great and down to earth there are jokes that will make everybody laugh.

Mike Birbiglia is easily one of my top five favorite comedians. He consistently makes me laugh. Everyone I've played the CD for has loved it, including my younger brother, my mom, and my best friend....all of very different humor perspectives.

One thing that really stands out about this CD is that you can listen to it over and over again, and it doesn't lose its appeal. Some comedy albums just aren't funny the second time around. Mike Birbiglia's material might even get funnier the more you listen to it.

Mike Birbiglia is no joke when it comes to making people laugh. This is CD is a great buy and is funny countless times over. Get on the Birbig-Bus and buy this CD.

"comedy for fools"... yeah. Nice review. Don't take this review serious until you have read this chullets other reviews. All I have to say is "Nutz on ya chin"?!? Maybe you should be at a certain maturity level to appreciate a good comedian. Mike- your CD is awesome and Ohio loves ya! Keep up the good work and we'll all be out to support you!

This comedy album is outstanding. Mike is a great performer (I highly recommend him live) and it is great to have his material captured on CD. He is smart, hilarious and endearing all at the same time. If you enjoy good comedy, you will appreciate this CD. If there were a six star rating, this CD would get it!
