If you have a "Kryptonite NY lock" like me, chances are you've been searching for a way to attach your lock on to your bike. This lock does not come with any type of holder for bikes, nor would you find a company that makes one.

After playing around with these straps, i found the perfect way to secure my lock on to my bike. (Check out the images i've posted)

I've been riding with this lock on my bike using these straps for about a week now, over curbs, up and down steps, on rough roads... and so far, they have stayed in place without any shaking or rattling.

Just get it.

The cheap plastic bracket that comes with all Kryptonite locks kept breaking on me in the most inopportune and dangerous times (i.e. riding at 15mph in heavy traffic). After trying to replace it several times, I finally gave up and was forced to carry a bag with me at all times just to transport my bike lock! That is until I stumbled this fabulous device! The Velcro is sturdy and the black attachments are made of a pliable heavy duty rubber that holds the lock firmly to the bike! It has withstood springtime construction season in New England and held up well without any problems.

Noteworthy is the fact that I personally didn't like the standard installation location (on the handle bars), but I was able to use it along the top tube of the frame which seems to work better for my needs.

My only complaint is that the package only came with 5 Velcro pieces and not the 6 needed to attach all 3 brackets. I have contacted the seller to see if they can send a Velcro piece to me without me having to return the whole item. That having been said, it still does hold firmly with only two of the lock blocks on the top tube but I worry about long term wear and tear without the third block in place...

All in all a GREAT product and well worth the cost!

This item includes three identical blocks, two short straps, and four long straps. That might not be clear from the description.

Now, does it work? Yeah, it almost works. But it's not great.

- The blocks fit the shaft of the U section of the lock, but the barrel is larger, and just sorta sits on top of the third block. And the strap wasn't quite long enough to go around the barrel of my lock. I daisy-chained another section of velcro to make it long enough.

- There's not a lot of room on the handlebars, so it's hard to find a good fit.

- If you have a vertical stem or an angled stem riser, the lock ends up projecting above the handlebars. Surprisingly, it makes the bike just enough taller that it doesn't fit in the bike locker at work! So I must ease the strap around the lock barrel and push the top of the lock down to go in and out of the locker. Ugh.

- It's a pain to do up three velcro straps every time I unlock the bike. Each must be threaded through the little buckle, so it's more fiddly than the usual quick velcro experience.

- Once secured, the tail of the strap wants to point straight down toward the bar, but the bar is in the way, so the tail ends up sticking out somewhere. Not a completely tidy appearance. If I trimmed each strap to stop short of the bar, it'd be more difficult to undo the velcro to remove the lock.

- The hanger that came with my U-lock was no solution, either. (It broke.) But at least it was quick and convenient to mount or unmount the lock. More convenient than these straps.

These lock blocks are a great idea. Maybe even superior to the usual lock hanger. But they're not ideal.

I use this to hold my bike lock on the handle bars. Just the U part though, not the flat locking part. That part on the FUGEHETTTTABBBOUTIT lock is way too heavy. Seriously, it's like a small child (4 pounds). This is great for not having a bulky U- part of the lock stuck in a pocket, or stuck in your belt like an annoying hipster without actual goals in life other than being a trendy hipster. Other say this works great for flashlights or other items - haven't tried it but it seems like it would totally do well.

Would recommend.

I use these lockblock for my Mountain bicycle excursions at night. They hold my flashlight a Fenix Tk-10 on my helmet very well instead of buying a 200 or 300 dollar specialized helmet bicycle light. Save money and do what I did!!

I see that all the other reviews for these lock blocks are for flashlights which is great. Here is a review for what they are meant for, a U-Lock. They are excellent! They secure tightly to the handle bars and I know that they will not unexpectedly break, ever. I am very pleased and I know that these are the best securing system for a U-Lock that I could ever find.

I bought these after the plastic mount for my Kryptonite U-Lock bit the dust (note to Kryptonite—how about not using a plastic nub to retain a bike lock) and it fell off in the middle of the road and got run over by some numb nut who wasn't paying attention. The lock was fine, but I never cared for the limited mounting options provided by the OEM mount. These work great. The lock doesn't rattle as much anymore—I didn't realize it when I bought them, but the Lock Blocks are made of rubber, not plastic. The velcro system works well—just make sure you don't have too much other stuff on your handlbars (my commuter bike has grip-shifts, a headlight, and a bike computer—adding the U-Lock means there's NO space left for anything else (like a bell, but who needs a bell—I can yell just as easily)). Definitely recommended.
