Product Description

This season, Charlie has a thorny problem: Rose. Before, she was on the make for Charlie. Now she’s married and supposedly off-limits – and that’s irresistible for lust-struck Charlie. He pursues her. That and other situations are all part of the hilarious antics of Charlie, his sad-sack bro Alan and his underachieving nephew Jake as they return to make Two and a Half Men #1 among TV comedies. Don’t miss Charlie keeping his mojo in motion with Michelle (elegant, older), Courtney (cheap, sexy) and, of course, Rose (crazy, crazy). Alan burning down his girlfriend’s house and hatching a chiropractic Ponzi scheme. And Jake risking his body and (few) brain cells to film a Jackass ripoff. Bad boys. Funny Men.

Season eight marks the last season with Charlie Sheen as a costar of Two and a Half Men--so watching this season is bittersweet. Sheen has relaxed into his role as the churlish Charlie so that his comic delivery seems effortless--but what Sheen does is a lot harder than it looks. And the chemistry between him and his costars Jon Cryer (Alan) and the "half man," Angus T. Jones (Jake), is as seamless and sparkly as ever. In a way, season eight is a very good high note for Sheen to go out on, as this season of Two and a Half Men is chock full of good old-fashioned double-entendre laughs. One of the story threads is that Rose (the amazing Melanie Lynskey), once a man-eater on the prowl for Charlie, has decided to get married. Which, naturally, makes Charlie all the more crazy for her. Also still in the picture are Courtney (Jenny McCarthy, who deserves her own sitcom), and Michelle (the sultry Liz Vassey), and plenty of laughs are had as Charlie tries, as always, to juggle his fairly ridiculous love life. Cryer's Alan, meanwhile, plays long-suffering straight man, and the almost-all-grown-up Jake brings his slackertude to full flower and gets more screen time, with very funny results. Important note: Because of offstage events, season eight contains only 16 episodes, as against the usual 22 episodes for a season of half-hour comedy. Still, this season of Two and a Half Men is absolutely essential for anyone who loves this show. --A.T. Hurley

5.0 out of 5 stars Two and A Half Men Season 8 - My two cents worth May 8, 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
Let's remain objective. Facts: 1. This was a great show. 2. It ended up in a bad note. It is a pity that there was conflict between the cast and the producers. However, the producers decided to pull the show, affecting not only the cast, but the viewers, and the consumer should not suffer for it. I agree with a previous reviewer who asked, why should we pay full price for a shortened season. Let's do the math. According to, the MSRP for a 22-episode season of Two and a Half Men is 44.98 (see previous seasons), that is approximately $2.05 per episode. Now, there were only 16 episodes in season 8, that should add up to $32.80 at the most ($2.05 x 16). Also, I love Amazon, but if they are charging $27.49 for previous seasons (see seasons 5, 6, and 7) which is 61% of MSRP, then it follows that they should also charge 61% of the MSRP for this season, which should be no more than $20.01 for pre-ordering. That would be a fair price for this product. At this point, this item at $38.49 is overpriced, specially for pre-ordering, when consumers are supposed to have an advantage for being on the cutting edge. Hope someone is listening. Two and a Half Men was a wonderfully coocky show, and I would like to complete my collection, but I will buy this product at a later date when the price is right.

Update: Have you noticed that Amazon has lowered the pre-order price to $29.99. Good for you Amazon! I know you care about your customers. However, all the other seasons are down to $18.99 at the most. Now, bring down the price of this season another $11, and I am in. :)

Charlie, without you the show is dead. Charlie, Jon, Angus, and Rose thank you for so many years of laughter and some incredibly funny situations. I will enjoy watching my DVDs over and over again. Wishing you well. Mari

5.0 out of 5 stars I WILL MISS THE REAL TWO AND A HALF MEN!!!!! June 1, 2011
Thank you Charlie, Jon, and Angus.. (and evelyn and berta and rose) Thank you for 8 amazing seasons of crazy, silly, wonderful pee my pants laughter!!! There is nothing like this show, and never will be.
Also thanks alot dumbasses for ending the greatness of the show by getting rid of Charlie. The amazing connection between Jon and Charlie,It won't be duplicated. So he pissed you off, pull up your big boy pants and get over it. You had a good thing, personal feelings should not have gotten in the way, and it did. Shame on you! And bonus to the replacement of Charlie another bonehead move.
I will add season 8 to my collection because it's still Two and a Half Men. Only 16 episodes , but it"s still worth buying. I will not watch season 9. To me it is done..
Thank you for a great run, many years of great laughs I will miss this show so very Much. Best of luck Charlie~

5.0 out of 5 stars Lorre should end Men with season 8! July 18, 2011
Format:DVD|Verified Purchase
I purchased season 8 and I am glad that Amazon cut the price, $44 was ridiculous for 16 episodes and a season that has no closure. My wife and I have been fans of this show for several years. I am dying of relapsing progressive Multiple Sclerosis and this show has been a really enjoyable treat for the two of us. My wife and I are also writers and we are both baffled by how Chuck Lorre and Lee Aronsohn are going to re-write a hit show created around Charlie Sheen. In one of Chuck Lorre's famous vanity cards he spoke eloquently of creating Two and a Half Men and finding a star that was humble and funny and how he assembled a cast that is the end all be all for his vision. Now going into the 9th season of Two and Half Men those good feelings of appreciation for Charlie Sheen, without whom these two men would have had yet another failed pilot as Lorre talks about in his vanity cards after Dharma & Greg had been canceled.

Will attempt to recreate a show that is fully matured and created for the forty something generation by bringing in a 32 year old kid. What could this child have in common with Alan, (Jon Cryer), Berta, (Conchata Ferrel) Evelyn, (Holland Taylor) Jake, (Angus T. Jones) Rose ( Melanie Lynskey) Judith, (Marin Hinkle) Herb (Ryan Stiles)?
How do they integrate into a mid forty and over cast a character named "Raymond"( Ashton Kutcher) who was born in 1979? a 32 year old kid, what does he have in common with this cast of characters who are searching for meaning in middle age? He is closer in age to Jones than any other member of the cast.

Granted, Ashton Kutcher is married to Demi Moor who was born in 1962 and is 17 years older than Kutcher but he does not have 20 plus years of life experience, nor can he act.

1.0 out of 5 stars Two and a Half Men August 25, 2011
They messed up on the title of this DVD, "Two and a Half Men : The INCOMPLETE Eighth Season" is what it should say....I have watched this show from day one, own all of the DVD's, but WILL NOT pay full price for a little more than half a season. And BTW....without Charlie Sheen the show is doomed, Ashton Kutcher couldn't act his way out of a wet paper bag in a pouring down rain storm. The story of Charlie's death just doesn't work...terrible writing.

2.0 out of 5 stars why pay full price? April 7, 2011
Why pay full price for half a season?? I'm not spending my hard earned money on something that was half assed done? Charlie Sheen went nuts and couldn't even finish his job for the season and I'm expected to pay almost $40? That's wrong! This definitely left a bad taste in my mouth for two and a half men.

two and a half men, season 8
Charlie is fired and there are supposedly 8 unaired episodes even though the show has been shut down for the remainder of the season. Any info on the 8 episodes being included on the 8th season DVD would be appreciated. This has always been one of my favorite shows and it's a shame it may end... Read More
