Book Description

March 1, 1989
This book is a powerful revelation that when recieved will enable a person to stand upright in christ and know who he/she is. Every Christian should read this book. The church has been very strong in teaching man his need of Righteousness, his weakness and his inability to please God. The average Christian has been kept under condemnation, as the church has never caught what we are in Christ, nor who we are in Christ... has never taught that all that Christ did for us is available to us NOW. We do not have to wait until we get to Heaven to enter into what Christ did for us... it is ours to enter into and enjoy NOW! God Himself is our very Righteousness... we are the Righteousness of God in Him. We are partakers of the Divine Nature the moment we accept Christ and come into the Family of God. If you live the life of weakness and defeat, it is because you do not know what you are in Christ. The supreme need of the church at this hour is to know what we are in Christ, and how the Father Himself looks upon us. Righteousness means the ability to stand in the presence of the Father God without the sense of guilt or inferiority. Unless you know who you are, and what you are in Christ, you cannot live a victorious life... Satan, sin and disease will be your masters. The instant that you know you are the Righteousness of God in Christ, and understand what this Righteousness means, Satan is defeated. This important book should be read by every sincere Christian. It will change your live as it has changed the lives of multitudes.

About the Author

Dr. E. W. Kenyon (1867-1948) was born in Saratoga County, New York. At age nineteen, he preached his first sermon. He pastored several churches in New England and founded the Bethel Bible Institute in Spencer, Massachusetts. (The school later became the Providence Bible Institute when it was relocated to Providence, Rhode Island.) Kenyon served as an evangelist for over twenty years. In 1931, he became a pioneer in Christian radio on the Pacific Coast with his show Kenyon's Church of the Air, where he earned the moniker "The Faith Builder." He also began the New Covenant Baptist Church in Seattle, Washington. In addition to his pastoral and radio ministries, Kenyon wrote extensively.

4.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful and helpful book., February 15, 2002
This review is from: Two Kinds Of Righteousness (Paperback)
This book really did help give me confidence in the message of Righteousness by Faith instead of by my own work, and helped to stand on it more. The key term he introduces to describe the problem of man is "Sin Conciousness." And He then proceeds to show how God dealt with this in Christ. One of the really great thing about this book is that it contains a lot of Scripture used properly. This makes the book worth reading again to get the full impact. I agree with the previous reviers that this is a very powerful and important book and message. A few notes:

1. This book is short (80p)
2. While there was a lot of great truth, it seemed a little unstructured to me.
3. The reason I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 is because I think there are a few short places where this author steps into dangerous territory with regard to Sonship. For example, he says that "Jesus is the 'sample' son" Now in context I don't think he meant anything unorthodox, but this kind of language tends to suggest that we are little Jesus' and is exactly what you will find in the Sonship cults that followed the Latter Rain.

Please don't get me wrong. This is a wonderful book, and I hope you buy it, just please be careful of the few places in the book where the true message of our Sonship in Christ is pushed perhaps a little far.

5.0 out of 5 stars a stunning masterpiece, liberating and exciting!, November 18, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Two Kinds Of Righteousness (Paperback)
This book puts into perspective how God sees man. We are in union with God right now. We mustn't wait until Heaven. Such deep Bible truths made perfectly simple and easy to understand. There is no need to walk in shame or defeat when victory is ours through Jesus Christ. This book taught me how to rise to Gods level rather than try to fit God into my level. Every christian MUST read this book. Next to the Bible, this might be the most powerful book I have read. See for yourself
