Of Two Minds,
By Samantha (Jonestown, PA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Of Two Minds (Point Fantasy) (Paperback)
I really love this book. I like reading fantasy and romance. This book has both but has more fantasy in it. Princess Lenora is a girl who is turning 17. Her father brings Prince Coren to her for her birthday. Her parents and Coren's parents wants them to marry. Before they met both saw something in a mirror or water. They both don't want to marry each other and some how they both think that there is something wrong with each other. They travel to a another world were they both most trust each other to save themselves and others. I think that anyone who loves fantasy with a little bit of romance should read this book and read the sequel to it. ("More Minds", "Out of Their Minds", and "A Meeting of Minds")

A fun kids fantasy,
By Nancy E. "Nancy" (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Of Two Minds (Point Fantasy) (Paperback)
Sixteen year old Lenora is a headstrong, brave and rather spoiled princess who lives in a world where everyone has the power to make the things they imagine real. Unfortunately for Lenora, using this power is strictly forbidden, not that it stops her much. Shy and logical Prince Coren lives in a world where everyone has the powers to read everyone else's mind, a power that he would do anything to get rid of. When Lenora and Coren discover that they're arranged to be married, none of them are too happy about it. Lenora is furious. She doesn't see why she's supposed to marry this boring boy that she's never met before. In an attempt to run away she ends up throwing herself in a completely different world. Unfortunately she accidentally brings Coren around with her. Everything seems perfect in this world to Lenora, from the people to the dashing ruler, Hevak. Coren is a bit more cautious. Everything seems to perfect. It's this caution that ends up getting him in trouble. Now Lenora's the only one who can save him. That is if she can resist the persuasive powers of Hevek.Although this book isn't all that advanced it's still an original and entertaining work of fantasy. The plot is fast paced, exciting, and easy to get addicted to. The different worlds are wonderful and very well described. The only problem I really see with it are the characters are awfully underdeveloped and flat. They don't seem to grow too much through the book. But since this is a series, that could be fixed in the next four books. I'm very interested in reading the other books in the quartet, the next one being More Minds. I would recommend this to younger readers and older readers looking for a fun escapism book.

An Edge of Your seat +Laughing your head off Fantasy,
By Emma A.G Cifrino (Portland, Maine United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Of Two Minds (Point Fantasy) (Library Binding)
This book is not as serious as some of the great books i've read ( aka:His Dark Materials, stuff like that), but the writing is just as good. In this humorus fantasy, the bored Princess Lenora runs away from an unwanted marrige to the kind, but boring, weakling Prince Coren. When Lenora runs away, Prince Coren follows her. They get trapped in another world that Lenora has accidently created, a world thats completely controled by the evil Hevak. This book shows that people aren't always what they seem, and everybody has a gift that will help in hard times.

A Kid's Review
This review is from: Of Two Minds (Point Fantasy) (Paperback)
If you read this book you must be aware that an open mind is the best kind of mind set for this story. It does take some time to get used to the unique powers of each of the charecters. The actual story follows both the headstrong and stubborn Lenora and the inteligent yet seemingly boring Coren as they are drawn into a world of what looks like profection. In this world they discover that nothing is as it seems and that only they can stop the evil Hevak from causing anymore damage than he's already done. To find out what happens in the end you will just have to read the book and be sure that your ready for a load of surprises.

One Amazing Book,
By Tracy Russell (Portland, OR United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Of Two Minds (Point Fantasy) (Paperback)
I really liked this book a lot! It was a mixture of fantasy, humor and a bit of romance. Somthing about the book made me keep reading for hours on end until the book was finished. Princess Lenora is from Gepeth, a country where everyone can imagine something and make it real. (I guess you won't need to go to the mall anymore.) But no one except Lenora will use their powers because it might upset the Balance. (Oh dear!) Prince Coren is from Andilla where people live in their minds. They can imagine they're eating fried chicken when what they're really eating is blue mush. (Yuck!) Instead of talking, they communicate with their minds. However, Coren doesn't like the idea of people being able to read his mind, so he decides to stop imagining a soft, fluffy bed and instead sleeps on a bumpy, old, real, bed. Well, these two young royals are to be married. (Not of their own free will) During the ceremony, Lenora transports both of them to a world she sees in a basin of water. They find that in that world, they are unable to use their powers. Soon Coren and Lenora figure out what's going on and who is causing all of the problems. You have to read this book and its sequels!

A Short but Fun Fantasy,
By "thepenmage" (CA, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Of Two Minds (Point Fantasy) (Paperback)
Everyone in the kingdom of Gespeth has the ability to make things real by imagining them. For example, if they wish to remove a stain from their clothes, all they have to do is imagine the cloth stainless and it will instantly become so. Lenora, a headstrong and beautiful princess, has a stronger from of this gift than most people. Everyone in a neighboring kingdom (I can't remember the name right now)can read minds. They can enter someone's mind and speak to them, and they can extract information by reading the minds of people without this gift. Coren, a not-so-handsome and somewhat of a weakling prince who just wants a normal life, doesn't like this reading minds business. He feels it is wrong to invade someone's privacy, partly because everybody keeps on invading his. So, he decides that he will not read minds unless invited to. When the monarchs of these kingdoms plan a wedding between Coren and Lenora, things start going wrong. Not wanting to marry Coren, Lenora runs away and somehow ends up taking Coren with her. There, the two encounter what seems to be a perfect world, but they soon discover that that's not what it is. It is ruled by a man name Hevak who is controlling the minds of the people there. Together, Coren and Lenora must defeat Hevak. And this would be a lot easier if they actually got along.... This book is a short and fun fantasy book. (but you knew that from my title, didn't you?) If you are used to reading longer and more serious books, you may not like this. I normally read long books, but found this a pleasant change. It has the right amount of humor, romance, and adventure in it. I'm looking forward to reading the sequels.("More Minds", "Out of Their Minds", "A Meeting of Minds")

One Mind + One Mind = Two Minds,
By A Customer
This review is from: Of Two Minds (Point Fantasy) (Paperback)
Lenora, a reckless princess that has the power to change whatever she imagines into reality. Coren, a timid prince that can speak with people mind to mind if they also have the power. They meet, and fall head-first into an adventure that is hilariously romantic, yet interesting. This is a great book for all ages, and I recommend it to all.

The Bored Adventurous Princess and Boring Prince,
By "darcarailius" (MI) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Of Two Minds (Point Fantasy) (Paperback)
This book is the first in a series (I have only read the first two so far) for young adult readers - but anyone could read it. This book shows you the downsides of reading minds and getting everything you dream of, and also shows you that maybe boring people aren't so boring after all. It is somewhat of a love story, but not so that it's annoying or at all like a romance novel; it's more like a first kiss book. If you like this one, you'll also like "The Enchanted Forest Chronicles," "A Gift of Magic," and "The Giver."

On Thursday, Sept 2, my friend recommended this book to me. She told me it was a fantasy, and immediately, I lost interest because I am not a fantasy fan. She brought the book to school the next day. I decided to read it, only to oblige her. At approximately 6:00 pm this evening(Sunday, Sept 5) I picked up "Of Two Minds". I was absorbed into a whole realm of capriciousness and of romance and of pure magic and mysticism. It is now 7:22 pm. I finished nearly half an hour ago. I cannot wait to read the sequel, "More Minds".

This was a realy good book. I enjoyed reading it alot. The only problem with the book was that it was hard to get into at first. Once you get past the first few chapters, then it gets realy good. It's about a princess and a prince that are being forced into marrage. Both of the two have seperate powers of reading minds and able to chang were they are. At the wedding both the princess and prince are pulled to a land of which they never new was there. They start on a exciting adventure were they don't know what will happen next.
