Book Description

June 4, 2000
Two for the Show outlines and gives examples of team comedy in the twentieth century in all media: stage, film, radios, TV, records, tapes, cassettes, and CDs. The book is unique in covering the comedy teams of the 60's, 70's, and 80's.Since 1982, there have been no new comedy teams. The only changes have been separate career credits (Jerry Stiller, Seinfeld, Dick Martin, TV Director) and the demise of the team comedians.

4.0 out of 5 stars Two forthe price of one., July 6, 2000

This review is from: Two for the Show: Great 20th Century Comedy Teams (Paperback)
Excellent concise summaries of careers and brief bios of comedy teams from 1900 to present but the author, Lonnie Burr, is not the photographer as Amazon lists him, although the book provides numerous, terrific photos.

Gives examples of each team's comedy style and routines and how the styles work in the various Twentieth Century media changes and evolutions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Laughs from the past, November 9, 2000

This review is from: Two for the Show: Great 20th Century Comedy Teams (Paperback)
Finding out about my favorite team was great but I laughed out loud at almost all of the mucho material - without a lot of editorializing and chockablock words - from live stage to all kinds of audio and film. For the beach, the doc's office or the smallest room in the house, frequently without a window. Go for it>>>
