Digitally remastered edition of this 1973 album from the former Yes and Flash guitarist. Upon his departure from Yes following the release of the album Time And A Word, Banks formed the Progressive band Flash, who enjoyed a degree of success in the U.S. That burst of success afforded Banks the chance to record this solo album with a cast of guest musicians which included Jan Akkerman, Phil Collins, Steve Hackett and John Wetton. Nine tracks. Esoteric. 2009. --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

Even though Peter was replaced by the great Steve Howe as guitar player in YES,it's ironic that Steve has never made a solo album better than this fine effort.Certainly not a perfect album,but very cohesive and not a "guitar album" like one would expect...

After Peter Banks had been sacked from Yes and been replaced by Steve Howe, he formed Flash (with former ex-Yes member Tony Kaye). They produced three albums and after that he made this first solo-album, along with the likes of Phil Collins on drums and then well-known Dutch-guitarist Jan Akkerman, who was famous for a while with Focus. 'Two Sides Of...' is a pleasant album, with lot of Banks' high-string picking, it's jazzy, rockin', laid back and up tempo, to be enjoyed late at night, with only a single light on and with a good glass of wine.

banks rock masterpiece, with some awesome dueling guitars w/jan akkerman, along w/other prog rock stars. i just can't explain how many times i've sat back and marvelled at the phenomenal prog rock which this is.
