One of the better solo albums from the YES family.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Two Sides of Peter Banks (Audio CD)
Even though Peter was replaced by the great Steve Howe as guitar player in YES,it's ironic that Steve has never made a solo album better than this fine effort.Certainly not a perfect album, but very cohesive and not a "guitar album" like one would expect...

Pleasant, but not overwhelming,

After Peter Banks had been sacked from Yes and been replaced by Steve Howe, he formed Flash (with former ex-Yes member Tony Kaye). They produced three albums and after that he made this first solo-album, along with the likes of Phil Collins on drums and then well-known Dutch-guitarist Jan Akkerman, who was famous for a while with Focus. 'Two Sides Of...' is a pleasant album, with lot of Banks' high-string picking, it's jazzy, rockin', laid back and up tempo, to be enjoyed late at night, with only a single light on and with a good glass of wine.

If you enjoyed YES's debut album.....Then you will be sure to like this album.....Banks's playing is an improvement over his YES contributions and the mastering exceeds YES's album.
John Wetton offers up some incredibly creatikve bass work.....His chops and tones are easily identifiable. You wont be disappointed with this one

A Rare Find!,

Great guests on this one. I especially like Jan Akkerman's work. If you like progressive rock music you need this one. Too good to be missed! Sounds somewhat like ealy Genesis.
