Highly valuable perspectives, July 22, 2007
This review is from: The Two-Source Hypothesis: A Critical Appraisal (Hardcover)
Bellinzoni did a masterful job of bringing in multiple perspectives to alternatively support or debunk Marcan Priority and the existence of Q. The essays are of somewhat uneven quality, but most are very well done. I particularly found helpful that there were articles from scholars supporting various alternatives to the currently dominant Two-Source Hypothesis. And it was good that the concluding essay, recognized the difficulties of coming to a definite answer, which stands in contrast to the many scholars who simply assume this is a closed question. This is a great book for people who are familiar with the basics of the Synoptic Problem, but want to go deeper into one of the more fascinating problems of modern biblical scholarship.
