Worth the money.,

This book is the ideal solution for those that are mechanically inclined and like to fix their own tools. The book is written very plain and simple language with excellent picture examples. I fix small engines but have always been befuddled by the two stroke engines. I have never fussed so much about fixing the things before, but this book breaks down the information with practical knowledge as well as theory on the operation of the engines. The book is well worth the money.

I have a two stroke snow blower which wouldn't start during this winter of numerous snow storms.I didn't expect to become an expert concerning two strokes, but I wanted to understand what the carb. looked like inside in order for me to try to clear the clog in the jets-which is usually the cause of engines not starting.Well, after researching the carb I came across a simple tip to get the engine running with out removing any components.I tried it an voila the engine came to life.Needless to say more difficult problems would require a more intensive research and perhaps component change. If you have sufficient tools and patience this book is well worth the investment............

The Two-Stroke Engine book seems fairly comprehensive and has discussion of the engines and their operation. It has many photos and diagrams and goes over each system in the engine along with repair and trouble shooting information. Some things are perhaps out of scope for the casual home repair person, but others are pertinent. I haven't torn down any of my engines yet (weedwhacker and blower), but expect to do so soon to stop paying the repair shop. After perusing it I would rate the book highly.

This book is very detailed and has valuable information. It's easy to understand and covers many different types of 2 stroke engines. It also includes the basic mechanics of engine functions and how they work- a vital component if you wish to properly maintain your engine.
Perfect for beginners who know nothing about these engines but wish to learn, and good for experienced mechanics who want to expand their knowledge and experience with 2 stroke engines. I give this book a 5 star review. Great Book!

This book helped me understand how 2 cycle engines work and the problems they have.
The three steps to check, fuel, spark and compression, made it easy to see my problem. For me, perfect.

Very good book,

This e-book is well-written and a pleasure to read. It's not over my head as a beginner, but it's close. Still, it was enlightening.
One problem is that the Table of Contents is not properly coded from the book's index page; I have to go to another set point in the book, and swipe repeatedly to get to it. I eventually just bookmarked it, but it's a minor inconvenience.

Two STroke Engine Repair and Maintenance,

Several of my two stroke engine machines are so old that the local repair places would not try to fix them. I purchased TSERM, read it and first tackled a Mantis tiller that did not like to start.
Following the book I replaced the plug, cleaned the carburetor and tested the ignition coil. To accomplish those tasks I purchased a spark plug gap gauge, a compression gauge, and ignition tester. Mechanically everything on the Mantis looked OK, it just would not start. The problem seemed to be the ignition coil. I bought a new coil from Mantis to replace the existing coil. Three pulls on the starter cord and presto everything worked. I adjusted the carburetor and tilled the garden. Next came the McCullough Titan TD-3000 weed whacker. Again I followed the book and came the same conclusion. It needed a new coil. I had to do some searching to find a supplier. The new coil arrived and was placed in the weed whacker. Third pull and it was off and running. I have no complaints about the book. Follow the book and you can kiss the repair shops good-by

Cramped diagrams are hard to read. I had a hard time staying awake while reading this. I never did finish reading it. Not much else to say about it.
