Works well, but I prefer BodyGlide.,

I have used this in my socks during several long runs, including a marathon. It keeps my feet drier than they would be without anything, but I have gotten blisters when using it. It is a loose powder. I use a couple tablespoons in each sock, and it inevitably puffs out of my sock with each step and leaves a mess all over the floor unless I put my shoes on right away.
BodyGlide between the toes has worked better for me (blister free every time), and it's mess free.

I can't say I'm very impressed. The packaging is a non-locking ziploc type bag. It simply doesn't seal. Since it's in a bag, the measuring cup invariably settles to the bottom and is a mess to retrieve through the bag mouth. If any product ever belonged in a canister (AS IT IS PICTURED) it's this one.
The powder itself seems to work less well than bodyglide on my feet. I've tried varying amounts from a scoop and a half per foot all the way down to half a scoop per foot. If I use more, most of the powder remains as loose powder in my sock and puffs everywhere when I remove my socks. I don't really care about that, but it's clear the powder isn't binding to anything and hence isn't acting as a lubricant. (At least not the part that is still loose and dry.) I've used the product in a dozen or so runs ranging from 5 miles to a half-marathon practice run and then the actual half-marathon race. Shoes worn were Asics Speedstar's and Vibram Five Finger's with Injinji(sp?) toe socks. I have hammer toes which demand the toe socks. The blisters that I earned using blister shield were not between my toes, but on the balls and outside of my foot. I had very high hopes for the product, but given the abysmal packaging and mediocre performance, I would not recommend this.

The blister shield worked pretty well as described, and the product itself I would likely recommend. However, I was disappointed with the packaging. The image on amazon.com shows a nice container, but the product actually arrived in more of a resealable plastic bag. The bag had a tiny hole in it, so when the package arrived in the amazon box, there was white powder everywhere. Then, because of the packagine, its base was unstable and, while using it, the bag tipped over and I got powder all over the sink and floor. Still I managed to collect most of the powder and put it in the bag and then put it inside of another zip-loc bag. And, the product worked just fine. But I'm not sure I'd want to go through the messy hassle again.

A little too clumpy for me........,

When I received it I was suprised at how clumpy it was. I was expecting a very fine, easy to apply powder but it was in big chunks within the container and had to break it up with my fingers. Not so sure I will buy it again.

I got this for my wife. She runs every day any distance from one mile to marathons. She tried this product out and said that it actually made it worse on her feet. She used it once as directed on the label and never again. She has run both the Chicago and Boston Marathons so she knows what she is talking about.

The plastic bag that the powder was packaged in had a hole in it, so some of the contents ended up on the floor.
The product itself is very good and worthy of 5 stars, but the new packaging is very poor, so 4 stars is all it gets.

I'm giving this 4/5 stars because as amazing as blister shield is (and it IS amazing), the company has switched from the canister packaging (pictured here on amazon) to a horrible plastic "resealable" bag, which is in fact not resealable. Fortunately I had an old empty blister shield canister, so I dumped the new stuff into it and tossed the plastic bag. If you buy this product, be prepared to store the powder in something other than the original plastic bag.

Product arrived just as ordered and in a timely fashion. This product is the only one I've found that keeps me from breaking out in a heat/friction rash from my snowboard boots rubbing on my calves. Body Glide didn't work, this stuff does!

I have walked in several 3-Day 60 mile events and I love this stuff. You put 1 teaspoon in each sock and then squish it into the sock ...yes, some of it will "puff" out as you are walking at first - it is a powder, but the trade off of none to minor blisters at the end of the event is worth it.
