4.0 out of 5 stars Look at the Title!!
For those who thought this was the Soundtrack with the songs by various artists, all you have to do is look at the title of the cd. It says Original Motion Picture Score. While it does say Soundtrack with that, you can easily see the track listings and the composer's name as well. LOOK BEFORE BUYING!! That said, John Powell is one of Hollywood's best composers. ...not the score. I have seen the movie and loved the music in the film. For those who want a listing, the tracks are at the end credits, but here is as many as I can fit for now! ..."Baby, you've got what it takes" --Dinah Washington & Brook Benton. Do not get this expecting it to be a collection of songs from the movie. It is the instrumental backround music, not the featured songs.

2.0 out of 5 stars Found the SOUNDTRACK!!!, August 28, 2003

I've also been searching for the soundtrack (not the score). On the back of the DVD, it says "Soundtrack available on pressplay". Sure enough, at pressplay.com, you can download the entire sountrack as an album!!! It's worth it!

He is extremely versatile and always rises to the challenge of the movie he composes for. This is no exception. If you want the Soundtrack, this isn't for you. If you want an accomplished Score, buy.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the movie's soundtrack, June 17, 2003

This review is from: Two Weeks Notice: Original Motion Picture Score (Audio CD)
We were truly disappointed when we got this CD, expecting to hear all the great songs from the movie.....but not, we only got the score. It will be really nice if they come up with the real soundtrack sometime.

1.0 out of 5 stars [Not worth it], March 14, 2003
This review is from: Two Weeks Notice: Original Motion Picture Score (Audio CD)
When my daughter asked what I wanted for my birthday, I picked this cd because we had seen the movie together at Chrismas when I was visiting, and I enjoyed the soundtrack so much I wanted to share the experience again. What a surprise when listening to it for the first time, I thought I had a promo that a songwriter was selling and I knew my daughter [would be disappointed]. The soundtrack is not even available: the cd is packaged the stars as though it is the definitive track. No wonder the music industry is losing profits because the public is burning cd's. They expect a fair and honest price for the products they buy. This transaction just made two people disappointed with the merchant and of course, we cannot send the product back because I listened to it once. ...

No!!! This is not the songs I enjoyed from the movie. The repetitive, boring dewdododoooo background music was not what I expected when I ordered. Don't make the same mistake I did!

1.0 out of 5 stars Come ON!, April 30, 2003
This review is from: Two Weeks Notice: Original Motion Picture Score (Audio CD)
I appreciate the work of film composers, who are responsible for some of the movies' greatest moments. However, the reason most people wanted this soundtrack album was not for the orchestral score, but to have the wonderfully researched classic vocals that so brightened this rather formulaic romantic comedy. HEY! You laboriously clear these great tracks for the movie, then you can't make them appear on the album? Forget about it!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not fair, March 14, 2003

People, people, people... I'm dissappointed in you all. Just because you expected songs and got the score it doesn't give you the right to knock Powell's score. John Powell has written a charming little score for this film, with a beautiful love theme, performed by piano and guitar.

And, do keep in mind, that this is a more "real" and "regular" soundtrack, to quote some of you, than the typical music-from-and-inspired-by-and-other-songs-that-has-nothing-to-do-with-the-movie marketing ploy soundtrack. You should be ashamed of yourself. This IS the real music! Do yourself a big favor and buy this soundtrack, maybe you'll discover a whole new genre of music - there's nothing like film music! John Powell and all the other film music composers out there certainly deserve it!

I couldn't wait until I found the soundtrack for this movie. Then I discovered none of the songs from the movie were on it. This was a huge disappointment and I feel cheated.
