5.0 out of 5 stars Great Sounding Earphones!
I wanted to try some "earbud" style earphones to replace my Ipod earphones and I think I made a great choice in buying these. First, the sound is excellent - well balanced with excellent fidelity, loads better than my Ipod earphones. They deliver great bass and the mids and highs are distinct; you'll hear every instrument being played.

Second, they seem to...

I can only compare these to the original iPod earplugs, so that's what I am going to do:
The Sound2 are superior for classical or other acoustic music. They are much clearer there, and apparently add frequencies that the iPod earplugs can't play. I thought to hear new sounds with the Sound2.

This review is from: Two-tone Black Sound2 "ELITE" Headphone Earbuds with Earphone Case - GREAT VALUE! (Electronics)

Second, they seem to be made very well. The earpiece is made out of aluminum as described in the ad. I didn't think much of that until I received them and I don't know if it influences how they sound, but the colorization of the two shades of black (jet black and more like dark charcoal black really) combined with the natural color of aluminum is very sharp looking. The cord, plug, and connector are as good of quality as I've seen on a pair of earphones.

They come with three sizes of ear pieces which is nice because I have small ears. I used the smallest pair and find they fit very comfortably without falling out.

Overall, these are the best earphones I've ever tried. I bought them for the price and the style, figuring the sound would probably be ok for the money. What I've determined is the sound is fantastic for the money and they look great too. You won't be disappointed with these and I would certainly buy them again, even as a gift. That's how nice they are!

After owning more than 10 earbuds, including Sennheiser, Denon I realize that it is not worth spending to yet go through another rather disapointing/costly listening experimence. While the expensive earbuds ($69-199) yield clear sound in the mid-high level, w/ moderate or limited clean bass, one would wonder if such limited reward would be the final answer to our prayers. With a earphones like the Sound-squared Elite, bass is clear, very adequate, even in the deep end with no drowning of the hi's or the mid's, as though the whole spectrum is present, pleasantly so. "Elite" might not be hi-quality build, but it can render your long listening experience highly acceptable, to the point that would make u a smart buyer. If you are a very demanding audiophile, skip this since it is made w/ more or less cheap material. But for Ipod lovers on the go, this is it; go no further: clarity of hi's + deep bass, no muddying. Don't spend more than you should. My second choice would be a EX75 by Sony by virtue of its dynamics & constant bass response (i.e. not very clean for purist-audiophile),next come the CX500 by Sennheiser.

I'm no expert on earphones/earbuds. I just wanted to get some decent earbuds that stayed in place while I exercised and gave me better sound than the ones that came with my Sansa Fuze mp3 player. I chose these because of the other reviews on this site and boy am I glad I did. They are really excellent. I love the difference in the sound and they are very comfortable in my ears and seem to stay in place even when I'm dancing or exercising. I LOVE THEM. I think anyone but the most discerning audiophile will be pleased.

I can only compare these to the original iPod earplugs, so that's what I am going to do:
The Sound2 are superior for classical or other acoustic music. They are much clearer there, and apparently add frequencies that the iPod earplugs can't play. I thought to hear new sounds with the Sound2.
For music that involves deeper bass, distorted guitars, synths and the like I prefer the original iPod earplugs. I found the Sound2 here too heavy on the highs, muddy in the mids, and weak on the lows.
My personal problem with the Sound2 is that they did not fit well into my ears. Apparently my left ear canal is smaller in diameter than the right. The Sound2 were rather unpleasant in the left ear even with the smallest ear piece. Now, that's my personal issue with the Sound2, and not a general one. I would, however, encourage anyone who plans to buy these or similar earplugs to try them on before you purchase to avoid similar unpleasant surprises.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awsome pieces, February 3, 2009
This review is from: Two-tone Black Sound2 "ELITE" Headphone Earbuds with Earphone Case - GREAT VALUE! (Electronics)
I got this after purchasing the soundxtc and being disappointed with the bass response on them. after contacting the seller, they offered to replace them, and recommended i try the "Elite". it only took 2 days to get them and they even send a pre paid envelope to send back the ones i dint want. but just fell in love with the Elite black on black metal housing, and bold look, and may i just add that they sound incredible for the price. i think you would need to spend at leas 50+ dollar in any store to equal the quality. should really go for them if you don't want to spend more than 30 bucks a a replacement pair of buds.

I'm not going to type a lot since a lot of other owners already pretty much laid it out as it is. I just wanted to add my voice to those that love these headphones, they're extreamly comfortable and for the price you can't beat the audio quality. Buy with confidence!

4.0 out of 5 stars Surprising good earphones, December 4, 2008
This review is from: Two-tone Black Sound2 "ELITE" Headphone Earbuds with Earphone Case - GREAT VALUE! (Electronics)
Just got these and was relieved that I trusted the reviews above. Great sound for the price but wouldn't rate these better than the Sennheiser CX500 like the previous reviewer. These would be comparable to the CX300. Overall I'm quite satisfied with my purchase. The packing could have been better and perhaps a include a pouch.
Bass is superior. These earphones rock!

I bought the Sound2 Elite earphones as a replacement for my ipod earphones. As other reviewers have stated, these are a great value and were a major upgrade to my old earphones. The bass is much better and the noise canceling is a bonus. Also, a much better fit than the ipod earphones. For $20 you cannot go wrong.

4.0 out of 5 stars Far better than Shure, April 17, 2009
This review is from: Two-tone Black Sound2 "ELITE" Headphone Earbuds with Earphone Case - GREAT VALUE! (Electronics)
I have had a pair of high-end Shure ear buds for a year and they have never wowed me. These things blow them out of the water. The bass is rich and very little distortion at max volume levels. Only complaint is the ear adapters, they feel a little cheap. I hope they hold up in my travel bag.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very very decent earbuds., April 9, 2009
This review is from: Two-tone Black Sound2 "ELITE" Headphone Earbuds with Earphone Case - GREAT VALUE! (Electronics)
They are as folks have described. If you are looking for some very decent earbuds for a great price, get these. NOTE: decide first if you are an "audiophile". Unsure? If you've ever had near-spiritual experiences listening to a really great soundsystem, you might be an audiophile.

I ordered the Sound 2 Elite "Platinum"s, since I prefer that white ipod look. They look great, and are very comfortable with the insulated tips, which block out a good deal of background noise as well.

I first listened to them and discovered rattling. No bueno. So I "burned-in" the earbuds, connecting them to my ipod and leaving them blaring full blast from morning til night. That solved the rattling. Bueno!

After listening to these, I've discovered that alas, I may be an audiophile. I used to use the Bose earbuds, which are absolutely magnificent in terms of sound quality, and I can definately tell these are not Bose. However, seeing that there is about a $75 price difference, that makes sense.

Sound 2 Elite are like "Baby Bose" to me. I can hear the distinctions of vocals, bass, instruments, etc, and the sound quality is good. I'm left wanting just a tinybit more, but overall, I'm very satisfied. I'm keepin 'em.

I also purchased the "Samba Premium Travel Case" in black, and the "Belkin Sports Jacket for ipod video 30GB", and so far, I like both of them very much.
