Book Description

August 16, 2004
In 1863 the authorities send Irish orphans Ismay and Mara to Australia against their will. Worse, on arrival they're separated from one another. While Ismay is forced to take a job as a maid, miles away in the country, Mara must stay in the care of the catholic mission. Desperate to be reunited, they both run away but Ismay soon runs into danger out in the bush. She is saved by Malachi Firth, but although he's attracted to her, he doesn't want to be encumbered with a wife. Meanwhile, their elder sister Keara has not forgotten them. However, she has had her own struggles to face and by the time she reaches Melbourne she finds that the trail is cold. Danger continues to threaten all three sisters. Will they ever find one another again?

More About the Author

Anna Jacobs was born in England but emigrated to Australia thirty years ago. Now she and her husband spend part of the year in each country. She's totally addicted to writing, and produces three novels a year. If she slows down, new characters nag her till she tells their stories. And after all, dusting isn't important - story-telling is. She was first published in fiction in 1992 and as of April 2011, she has had 53 novels published, a few under other names. At the moment Anna is writing historical sagas for one UK publisher and modern novels for another, but she doesn't guarantee not to try other genres. Writing is too much fun to be limited in any way. She's been married to her own hero for many happy years, and they have two daughters and one grandson.

Anna also wrote fantasy novels as Shannah Jay, and these books have now been reiussed as Kindle books.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twopenny Rainbows by Anna Jacobs, January 21, 2012
This review is from: Twopenny Rainbows (Kindle Edition)
Twopenny Rainbows by Anna Jacobs is one of those rare feel good stories that can hold a readers attention from the first page to the last. It's a gentle, gritty, engaging tale with a little something for everyone to find and treasure. It's also the second book in a three part series titled The Irish Sisters. I loved it. I loved all three books. For this one, another five stars.
