I'm disappointed. These are really cute, but the quality of mine wasn't good. Some of the levels were very hard to get apart and others didn't even stay together. I really like this type of toy so it's a bummer that the quality was so bad. These are very hard to find unless you go the traditional Russian route.

I purchased two of these dolls and they are poorly constructed. They are difficult to open and one of them cracked when I opened it for the first time. Very cute but not fun to play with.

These animals are for a young child to play with and I as an adult could not take them apart. Not impressed with the quality of the item.

The product speaks for itself. Clearly they are very cute and perfect for our newborn daughter's bedroom. However, they scratch very easily and fray around the intersecting parts. If they were well constructed, would be a clear 5/5 rating. Just be warned and use them very carefully. Much more suited as a display item than usable toy.

Purchased this while it was in the gold box. When we got it, the Tiger's head was stuck inside the Lion's head and there was no way to get it out. Amazon did a wonderful job getting us a new one. The second set works perfectly. Other than the mishap on the first one, the set is a-okay with me.

I agree that when first used/played with, the pieces are tight. But as they get opened and closed and oils from little hands soften the wood, even my 1 yr old can open them. Of course, I've put the smaller (choking hazard) size out of her reach. My 3yo gets alot of enjoyment out of them. She lines them up, practices counting, practices her colors etc. A great gift!

These sweet animals have been one of my daughters favorite Christmas gifts this year! She's a year and a half & absolutely loves pulling the animals apart & then piecing them together or placing the different animals inside one another. Sometimes these toys can be difficult to pry apart or put together but these haven't been too difficult for my daughter to play with. She loves them & so do I! I would highly recommend them to anyone else looking for something similar!

This is the cutest little set of nesting animals! My daughter was only 1 when I got them for a plane trip, but since I'd be closely supervising I wasn't worried about the small parts (which, the penguin is the only really small one.) It is really well made and adorable! The lion was hard to open at first and I was afraid I'd break it, but after it was unstuck, we have really enjoyed this toy. She still likes it at 2.5.

Got these for my 2 yr. old daughter. My mother has a diff. set at her house that my daughter loves. So I figured she would love these. She plays with them on occasion.. but that is the same for any toy in this house. They are cute, the lion sticks a bit so she has trouble doing that one (and my 4yr. old son can't loosen it either). I like them! I say go for it!

My 7 year old daughter wanted a nesting doll and I thought the animals where very cute. She liked them a lot also. Cute set for a good price!
