Cathy Wierzbicki's TWOSEY-FOURSEY QUILTS: GREAT DESIGNS FROM 2-INCH AND 4-INCH CUTS tells how to use quick cutting techniques and fast sewing to simplify common patchwork shapes. Begin with strips and put together the classic quilter's blocks using new methods with over twenty projects here reinforcing the idea. Color examples throughout reinforce each step of the process.

There are 19 projects that are created from either 2" or 4" finished blocks. While I'm not a fan of working with 2" blocks, the 4" ones would be ok. The author has a special ruler that can be used for cutting either block size but you don't have to have it to make these blocks.
The author also shows how to make what she calls Flippy Corners. I know them as Flying Geese. Next she talks about making mitered binding. Then she gets into the actual patterns. Each one has a color photo of the finished item, the finished item size and finished block size. The materials list is set off in a colored box. The cutting list is in a chart form for easy reading. The rest of the instructions are clearly written with graphics that are helpful to understanding the written words. No specific quilting designs are provided or suggested. The projects are quilts and table toppers but I do see one or two quilts that would lend themselves to making great table runners. The bottom line is if you like to work with lots of small pieces, this book would be a good buy.
