This review is from: Ty the Ty Detmer Story (Hardcover)
This book is more closer to an autobiography by Ty Detmer with his host of ghost writers. The book was written in a very simple, matter of fact style, telling the life of Ty Detmer from his birth to end of his career as a BYU quarterback. As the winner of the 1990 Heisman Trophy, Detmer won fame as the first BYU quarterback to win such an award which can be considered amazing since BYU have produced several quarterbacks who may have been superior to Detmer in terms of talents and abilities (like Steve Young).

The book centered around his football career, his family and finally his conversion to LDS faith, probably due to the influence of his school, fiance and soon to be wife. There nothing truly earth shaking new revealed here, perhaps because Detmer, outside of his extraordinary career as a college football player, proves to be nothing more then your basic good young man who led a pretty average life outside of football.

The book is recommended for any BYU football fans but it has little to recommended outside of that. Sum of a man in his mid-twenties don't say whole lot.
