I am an older woman and this was my favorite game on Gamecube so far, and in my top five all-time (I've also had a Playstation, a Dreamcast, and an iMac.). This is why: 1. It's really hard to get killed, and when you do, you only go back to the last checkpoint, you don't have to redo the entire level. 2. You get a map you can consult to figure out where the things are you need to accomplish. 3. You don't have to accomplish every single thing on a level to move to the next level, so you don't get stuck forever in one place like I did in the volcano in Pac Man World, which I'll never be able to finish now. 4. The bosses are not damn impossible to beat. 5. I only had to get my husband's help on the last level boss when the boomerang had to travel through a constantly twisting pipe for about a million miles. That was hard, but after about 15 attempts, he did it. We were so happy! 6. The fighting and killing is kind of easy and there were no really really difficult jumps (like in Tomb Raider). 7. The levels, including a swamp at night, beaches and underwater, mountains and snowy areas, are pretty. 8. You can quit in the middle of a level (after you've saved, of course) and not lose everything you've accomplished so far. Now, if you're hunting for lost babies -- and this happens on several levels--if you don't find all of them before you quit, you will have to start over finding them, but it's not that tedious. You sort of find them as you're going along anyway.

I find it really hard to finish games without a Gameshark giving me infinite health, and since Gamecube doesn't have a Gameshark, I haven't been able to finish a Gamecube title yet, so the fact I finished this one makes it tops on my list! And no, it's not baby-easy, although probably no boy over age 9 will feel challenged by it, but it's easy enough for people like me. Sometimes even we old women like to feel like we beat a game, you know!

I'm an adult that still likes to play video games. The game is a all around fun platformer (Adventure) that I enjoy and so does my nephew that loves the game. The controls are easy for someone young to play, but the game has a lot of wit and humor that an adult will like. Yes if you a hard core gamer this might not appeal to to you, but if you are looking for a game for the whole family then this is a good title.

Ty is a fun platformer that embodies everything we like about these games. Cute as a button and faster than the lethargic Raccoon or the just plain slow Ratchet, Ty has his large variety of boomerangs and a massive bite to keep him out of trouble. And the authentic accents and catchy music are great.
Aimed at a younger audience than the Teen rated Ratchet and Clank and far less frustrating than Mario Sunshine, Ty is the new Spyro.

If you love adventure / gathering games where you go from level to level killing enemies and gathering up items, then Ty the Tasmanian Tiger is a great game to get!

The game is basically the same as Spyro and Banjo Kazooie, except you don't have a small sidekick. You go through various levels, each with its own look and feel, gathering up small items and building up your health and weapons.

Your task is to gather up the lost talismans, and to power the machine to do this you have to clear each level of the 300 tokens. There are also many side-quests on each level, from timed races to freeing caged friends and more. Each type of quest uses a different set of skills - general gathering, searching for hidden items, flat out racing, fighting, and more. In addition there are tons of hidden secrets that can have you playing for weeks after you complete the base game.

The game is very replayable for this reason and even though it's easy enough that you can keep moving through it without really getting stuck, finding those hidden items can be quite challenging. It's a game that the kids can enjoy for its easy enemy-slaying and item-gathering, but the adults can enjoy it too. There's a good dose of fun Aussie humor in it, plus the graphics are reasonably good, with each level having its own flavor - jungle, snow fields, forest, etc.

With Ty being sold at a bargain price now, it definitely should be in the library of every GameCube owner!

... The game is good and fun to play because of all the small movie scenes and such, but it should be just a little more complex. There should also be more levels. I just started this game and it is pretty simple. You throw boomerangs at enemies and bite your way through boxes. It's kind of like Sonic where you have to collect coins except they are reddish. Then you have to get special golden rings (forgot the name) and give them so that you can recieve a better boomerang. Overall, this game deserves 4 out of 5 stars because it looks to easy. The good part is that it doesn't take up a lot of space.

I got Ty because it got good reviews even though my brother didn't really like the sound of it. We brought it home read the manuel, got the plot then tried it. It was amazing, the awesomest graphics I've seen and easy conrols too. Your basic storyline, parents imprisoned, didn't know alive, talk to mythical dude then whoosh, you're tossing boomerangs, smimming, racing, finging treasure and even racing on a mutated bull! The only downside is that on the final boss you have to survive as a remote controled boomering in an enclosed area without hitting anything in a maze of tangled wires and haywire defensive systems, it's hard and long, but worth it. A good, easygoing game, action packed but with more logic than "go through level you're done" each level has many missions in which you gain thunder gems to power a machine that can locate the talismans you need to save your parents. Moreover, I think Ty is one of the bestest games I got.

I started my GameCube up and I was instantly sucked into this wonderful world of Aussie creatures. The opening movie was littered with goings-on, inside and outside the storyline. Millions of leaves blow by as Ty falls from a tree. Amazing. Although Splinter Cell supposedly has the best graphics ever, my vote goes to Ty.

The gameplay is what sets this apart from most games. Although it is very close to Jak and Daxter, it makes playing fun. Jak and Daxter is a much tougher game, and you do not feel close to the characters. While Ty seems to have trouble with matching voices to mouth movements, which Jak mastered, the gameplay is much smoother, and the objectives are within reach of any gamer. Although you can rush through this game, the real pleasure is in finishing the game completely. Every thunder egg leaves a fun mission or puzzle in your way. Although this game is based on a Thunder Egg collecting system to beat the game, which helps you power a machine, this reminds me of the Power Cells from Jak, which aslo power machines. Coincedence?

The only flaw in this game is the camera angle system. The game leaves all of the camera movements up to you. One last flaw is that to turn Ty around quickly, you have to pull back on the control stick, which sends Ty into a slide move backward, which can leave you at the bottom of a cliff, or in an enemies grasp.

My final rating would be a 4.5/5. This is possibly the best platform game I have ever played, and it reminded me alot of Gex for the PS.

My daughter loves this game!

We have been pretty frustrated with many of the games we have gotten. It seems they make games for kids who spend hours every day on the gamecube so can hone their skills to high levels. There didn't seem to be much that wasn't babyish for kids who use gamecube for recreational fun and aren't olympic gamers!

Well TY is great. Graphics are good, sound is fine, and the platform is fun and enjoyable. Challenging but NOT overtly frustrating. Highly recommended!

I bought this game for my family but we can't play it because the screen swings so much that we get motion sickness. It may be a cute game but none of us can play long enough to find out.

I got this game a few months ago and honestly everyone thats my freind has a gamecube and here is the part Im telling the truth after I told them about it they all got it.And the next day they all said it was 100% cool.
