Lauren Peters never thought she would have a family and in an instant she is giving an instant one.

Mack Hansen never thought he would give up his playboy ways after seeing what had happen to his father when his mother left, but all that changes when Lauren agrees to be his bride in order to raise her niece and his god daughter, Callie when Callie's parent disappear.

Lauren had fantasized about Mack for years, but never once did she dream she would be married to and raising her niece with him. Although a marriage of convenience she can't stop herself from falling in love with Mack.

The Tycoon’s Convenient Bride… and Baby will have you falling in love. Shoshanna Evers' pairs two amazing characters together and throw a baby in the mix and you can't help but to fall in love with this book!

Lauren and Mack are both passionate about their businesses. Lauren loves her daycare children and dreams of expanding to have more children. Mack, although a ruthless businessman with a knack of finding perfect properties, shows that money doesn't mean as much to him when it comes to the people he cares about.

I thought Mack was incredibly sweet when it came to Callie and I absolutely adored the fact that he googled how to take care of a baby and managed to put her diaper on wrong. Callie and Mack together were just adorable, just like a real dad and daughter.

I did feel bad for Lauren after finding out the reason her ex broke up with her and about her personal problems. I rooted for her to have her family and her happily ever after and she definitely found that.

This was my first Shoshanna Evers' book, but will not be my last!

I wish I could give this book more than 5 stars, but alas I cannot, so even though I am shouting a big 10 in my head, I give The Tycoon’s Convenient Bride… and Baby 5 stars!

3.0 out of 5 stars An okay read, but frustrating at times July 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
This book has me torn. On the one hand, I like the premise--it makes somewhat more sense than many of the other "fake marriage" stories out there. (Key word there being somewhat. In this day and age it's hard to come up with a 100% plausible reason.) I also enjoyed the characters--both Lauren and Mack are likable, down-to-earth kinds of people (for all that Mack is insanely rich) and don't even get me started on baby Callie. Absolutely adorable, though she does tend to let them both off a little easily in the brand-new-to-parenting department. Still, so far, so good.

Then we get to the but...

If my brother and wife were missing at sea and presumed dead--or my business partner/best friend, for that matter--I would absolutely want more proof sooner, not later, that they actually were in some sort of witness protection program. I wouldn't be okay with going on the assumption that that's what was going on after being told of (or having) one conversation with the brother saying it was a possibility. I'd expect some kind of confirmation somehow and not be satisfied until I got it. (Especially since they're twins, and presumably even closer than your average siblings. Lauren mentions more than once about the whole "twin connection" thing, so you'd think...)

Almost all of the relationship conflict could have been solved in a single, honest, actual conversation. Instead, every time the two characters talked each only heard what they expected to hear and completely twisted around what was actually said to fit their preconceived ideas. Drove. Me. Crazy. Just talk, already!

In all, it was a decent book--it made for a pleasant morning's read--but it didn't quite live up to its potential. I would definitely give another book by this author a chance, however, in the hopes that this one was just a one-off.

Rating: 3 stars / C

4.0 out of 5 stars A Fun, Quick Romance Read. July 29, 2014
Format:Kindle Edition
Life for Lauren Peters is about work. She is dedicated to her growing daycare business and puts everything she has into that. On a rare “vacation” she stays at her brother’s house to babysit her niece Callie while he and his wife take some time to be together and repair their relationship. Everything is going well until there is a knock at the door and on the other side Mack Hansen.

In that one moment, these two acquaintances have their worlds turned upside down. As Lauren finds out that her brother and his wife are missing and presumed dead, she also learns why Mack thinks they are OK and just laying low. As overwhelming as that sounds, the best is yet to come. Lauren’s brother’s Will states that the caregiver for Callie must be married. Since Lauren nor Mack have made that commitment, they are shocked and upset that Callie could wind up in a Foster Home. Then, Mack comes up with a plan. Can you guess it? Yup. They will get married for Callie’s sake and then divorced once her “real” parents come back.

As any romance lover can tell, these two are going to go through ups and downs. They are tested by becoming insta-parents and newlyweds within the same day. Though, for the reader, it is the newlywed part that becomes the most interesting dynamic. They try to fight it, but eventually the attraction between them is too great.

This is a delightful and fun quick read. I sat down and within a couple of hours I was finished...wanting just a little bit more. It has the sexiness that we all love, but also the reality of a relationship between two people that just months before getting married, really didn’t know anything about each other. Sure they might have fantasized about what it would be like with the other, but never having a marriage or being in love.

Shoshanna Evers will definitely be added to my to-read list in the future.
