More About the Author

USA Today (c) bestselling author Elizabeth Lennox writes contemporary romance novels featuring sheiks, business tycoons, royalty, and other sexy rich men. Her male lead characters are smart, driven and determined, but can still be sensitive and vulnerable. Elizabeth's female lead characters come from a variety of backgrounds. They are strong, intelligent and independent, while still feminine and caring.

Although Elizabeth wanted to be a romance novelist since the eighth grade, that dream only became a (paid) reality for her in 2009 and a full time job in 2012. Along the way, she received a BS in History and held different jobs in the real estate, government consulting, and financial industries. All during that time, though, she was always writing, using her personal experiences, dreams, and travels throughout the United States, Europe and the Caribbean as backdrops for her stories. To date, she has written over 80 books and sold over 1.7 million copies. Her free novellas have been downloaded over 2.9 million times since 2013.

Elizabeth lives in Virginia with her husband and two children. Their home is just outside of Washington, D.C., and many of her novels are set in this area.

Ugggh. I have a serious problem with any character who categorically ignores perfectly reasonable concerns from his or her partner. When the person ignoring the wishes is also a woman's boss and is threatening her livelihood, even if it's supposed to be "OH MY GOD SO SEXY I CAN'T RESIST" it felt more like "You're gonna do what I want, because I want it and oh yeah I also control your job that you are not in a position to leave." It felt like a rape not a romance.

I enjoy a dominant alpha male, but part of that is being compassionate to your partner and allowing her to be in a position to say no. Otherwise it's not sexy fun times, it is assault. Miranda felt like a woman put in an awful and uncomfortable sexual harassment or sexual assault case waiting to happen. Also Royston is an ass.

No. Just... NO

This was a quick good book. Royston needs a pretend fiance to prove to his sister he is happy. Miranda is one of his employees and she is terrified of his intimidating manner. When she delivers a financial report to his office a few minutes past deadline, she's afraid he'll be mad. When he starts questioning her and asks her to go with him to lunch, she's not sure what to think. Royston realizes the instant he sees her that's she'll make perfect fiance. He just has to convince her. But will the pretend relationship become more?

SPOILER

I liked the book but had a few problems. Royston's bad childhood is mentioned but never explained. Then we get this happy ending with no details at all. I would have liked an epilogue of the wedding with his sister having had the baby so we could really get a happy feeling, and not just an abrupt ending. It was good to that point, just left you needing closure.

This was a quick easy read for a weekend afternoon. However I was surprised at the inaccurate historical facts. The story is based in London but the hero offered dollars as payment and the heroine took the subway to work. Has the author not heard of the pound or the tube in London?

I have read about 7 books by this author in the past and enjoy her writing but this book was bad. The writing and story was juvenile and I find myself unwilling to believe that it's the work of this author.

The story is far-fetched and stretches credibility. It's full of clichès and even though I'm a huge romantic, the ending requires a leap of imagination that is impossible to take.

The best thing about this book is the length (mercifully short).

Just when it starts taking off, it ends. I would love to say I loved this story however it felt more like a tease. A nice tease nonetheless (I LOVE alpha males). I wish there were chapters of what happens after the marriage. Maybe a small conflict. But the story did hit the spot.

Good set of freebies!

Read all 3 books in order to make it more like one decent book – in length that is. Each is stand alone but there is a crossover of some of the characters which is why it would make it a little more interesting to read in order for more of a time line. There are a few editing errors but I’ve seen worse in other e-books. People and publishers don’t want to pay for professional editors and tell themselves that because the youth is texting they don’t know the difference. Perhaps they need to speak up more, if they do.

Timeline sequence:
1. The Sheik’s Defiant Fiancée (66 pages)
2. The Prince’s Resistant Lover (83 pages)
3. The Tycoon’s Make Believe Fiancée (79 pages)

I know this novella is free, but really? The plot is less plausible than a made for tv movie and the writing made me think a child was writing. I read a good number of free and or poorly written novels, but I stopped reading after a third of the way on this one. Not worth the time.

First you have an Alpha Male and a woman who is quite feisty. This is quite a combination. It was a fun read and it moved quickly, but still had enough of a story to keep you interested.
