5.0 out of 5 stars Lessons of Life
I think Tye May is a great book because it teaches you not be greedy and act nice. If you like learning lessens, I think you should try Tye May.

1.0 out of 5 stars Not recommended for adopted Chinese girls.
I read this book in my search for children's books featuring Chinese girls as heroines. I would not recommend this book for adopted Chinese girls. The heroine is a "poor orphan," confronting an evil Chinese emperer. I would rather find books which present a more positive image of adoption and of Chinese culture to share with my future daughter.

5.0 out of 5 stars My daughter and I enjoyed it immensely., September 22, 1998
By A Customer
This book gives a great example of how a little girl overcame the odds against her. It is a book about strength and shows the good consequences of doing whats right. My daughter is 5 1/2 and had me read it to her every day until we had to return it to the library.

5.0 out of 5 stars A book with lots of magic, February 9, 2001
A Kid's Review
I think Tye May is a good book. I think it teaches not to be greedy. Tye May didn't just have a magic brush. She was also thinking really good. If you're interested in magic brushes, you might like Tye May and the Magic Brush.

4.0 out of 5 stars A funny book, February 9, 2001
A Kid's Review
I liked Tye May because it was funny. This book teaches you not to be greedy. Tye May didn't just have a magic brush, she is smart too. She knows how to use the brush and what to make. One person doesn't. Who is this? Read it and find out!

5.0 out of 5 stars A great role model, May 28, 2003
By A Customer
My 5 year old daughter, who was adopted from China, loves this book. The heroine is resourceful, compassionate, and strong-willed. What better role model for a girl?

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for Bedtime, December 5, 2005
A wonderful bedtime story! I've been reading Tye May on sleepless nights since it was given to me over ten years ago. It holds my attention and eases me into sleep even at age 21. I've even bought copies for friends, who report to love it as well.
