The Tygon formulation S-50-HL polyvinyl chloride (PVC) provides flexibility and strength to handle pump applications, and it is non-toxic and non-hemolytic to help prevent inflammation and bacterial growth. The tubing has a working temperature range of -55 to 165 degrees F, a durometer (hardness) of 66A, and working pressure ratings that vary by tube size. This plastic tubing is rated as very flexible as it bends more easily than flexible or rigid tubing. It meets U.S. Pharmacopoeia (USP) Class VI criteria for medical grade plastic materials and International Organization of Standardization (ISO) 10993 guidelines for blood contact for quality assurance.
