An enjoyable read, October 2, 2005
This review is from: Tymora's Luck (Forgotten Realms Lost Gods, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
When I purchased this book I didn't realize that it was part of a series, so I will have to go back and read the other two. Still, I found the book interesting and entertaining. A previous review stated that the gods were infantile, but when compared to the antics of the Greek and Roman gods, it's no different. Also, since I have just finished the Shadowdale trilogy and started the Avatar trilogy, I was intrigued to get a little more understanding of the various planes and realms the gods inhabit and a hint of the vastness of the "multiverse". This book is written a lot different than the others I have read from the Forgotten Realms, adding to its charm (probably why I enjoyed "The Night Parade", too). If you're looking for something a little different, then this book might be for you.

One of Novak and Grubb's best!, September 7, 1998
This review is from: Tymora's Luck (Forgotten Realms Lost Gods, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
My only complaint would be the fact that the plot rests on Lathander being far stupider than is likely. Besides that, this is excellent stuff.

A great read, a wonderful exploration of all the planes!, February 21, 1998

If you like Forgotten Realms or Dragonlance, this book will entertain you greatly. No half-ass story here, characters are real and act realistically. You will certainly appreciate the witty characters and their very human actions.

This book gives some useful information about the planes to those who don't want to buy the Planescape products. The characters weren't so good as in the Finder's Stone Trilogy but I still enjoyed this book.I recommend this to those interested in the planes.

Fun and engaging, August 8, 2011
This review is from: Tymora's Luck (Forgotten Realms Lost Gods, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
I've always being a fan of the forgotten realms, and the story of Finder and Joel is especially intriguing. The plot is excellent, though a little unrealistic as powerful gods like Selune and Finder send poor Joel to multiple planes to thwart a plot involving the lady luck. It is also rather unbelievable that a god of good could be so totally blinded by a god of evil right beside him. Still, the writing is excellent, the plot flowing smoothly. The characters are likable, especially Jas, Joel and Finder. It is well crafted, and that is all that matters for a fantasy book. After all, 'reality' and 'possibility' should not be the judging criteria of fantasy fiction.

A good read.., February 14, 1999

What can I say, it's a good story.. Especially in the creation of the boundaries of what each god from another sphere may do. As for Lathandar's foolishness.. *smile* Some folks never learn, I'd like to refer to the Avatar series and Crucible as further proof.

Fantastic conclusion to an excellent series!, January 19, 1998

I loved it! Great story. Fast paced and full of details. I'm a stickler for reality (yeah, thats why I read fantasy) and the formula for this book works great. The writers give you a look at some planes never before visited. I'm satisfied.

Disappointing, September 5, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Tymora's Luck (Forgotten Realms Lost Gods, Vol. 3) (Mass Market Paperback)
When I bought Tymora's Luck I was terribly disappointed. The truth is, I had to look for something I DID like. Now, I love TSR books and wish the company well, but this book is terrible. The plot is laughable, the gods are infantile in behavior and hardly worth reading about let alone worshipping. Pass it up.....
