5.0 out of 5 stars Unbelievable!, April 12, 2000

My blood sugar was averaging 150-180 and my doctor told me he was going to put me on pills. I found out about this book and it has changed my life. In 1 month I've lost 28 lbs and my blood sugar now runs 90-126 and decreasing. Best part - I'm NEVER hungry. The book answers so many questions as to why we are unhealthy, and provides a detailed roadmap to put our health back on track. It isn't difficult, and the results are immediate.

My boss and friend at work gave me this book. We are both type II diabetics. I read this book, put its principles into practice, and have now been insulin free for 6 weeks. I have lost 23 pounds. I was previously on nph insulin 70 units in the morning and 60 units at night. I have utmost praise for this book and Dr. Ezrin and Mr. Kowalski for their desire and efforts that have changed my life, and could change yours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Book!, October 5, 2000
I must admit that when I read the other reviews I was somewhat skeptical of how well it would work. I have tried many diets and they all worked for a few weeks, then I got nowhere. I have been on this diet for 3 months and have lost close to 27 lbs. It was difficult at first to stay away from pasta, bread, pizza!!, etc. but as time went by it got easier. It is true -you really aren't hungry all the time, and you don't have to exercise a lot to see results! The weight scales and the way my clothes fit have kept me going. I know when I get to goal weight I'll be able to bring back some of the things I miss (within reason). I highly recommend this book, even if your not diabetic.

Indeed, recent studies have shown-to virtually everyone's delight-that a brisk walk is superior to jogging or running for burning fat. The reason, as we've just seen, is that the body prefers fats for fuel during such activity, as compared to burning glucose while engaged in more strenuous exercise. "e;

On the Insulin Control Diet, what you do not eat is tar more important than what you cat. In other words, more than 40 grains of carbohydrate in any form will trigger your overproduction of insulin and return you to the weight gain cycle you know so well. "e;
