DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY I BOUGHT TWO OF THEM N BOTH DONT WORK THEY STICK, AND WILL BARLEY ROLL AND IF THEY DO ROLL THEY WONT WORK IN THE PHONE...N MY PHONE IS BRAND NEW, I TRIED IN OTHERS PHONES AS WELL...THEY DONT WORK, DNT WASTE YOU MONEY!!

this is a horrible product. the ball doesnt roll and you have to keep cleaning it every 5 minutess. i used it for a day then i got rid of it.

I bought this item thinking that it does not mater if it is not the OEM part but I was very wrong, after three days of use it started to get stuck, than it only moved vertically and at the end it stoped working all toghether, spend a little more and buy the OEM

It has been a week and the trackball still works good as new! I purchased this trackball in purple for my 8900 Curve and it is a perfect fit! However, you have to take the entire phone apart to replace the trackball. If your phone is still under warrant do not open the phone yourself or else you void your warranty.

I hoped since the trackball fell out of the front, I would just have to put another ball in the front, but this is not the case. Make sure you have a TORX T6 screwdriver on hand. Regular screwdrivers do not work. There are plenty on Amazon, but if you already have your trackball you can go to Home Depot and purchase a Husky 6-Piece Torx Screwdriver Set for around $6.

For those of us who are not small-electronics savvy, there are some helpful videos on youtube that show you how to take your Blackberry apart and replace the trackball. For BB Curve 8900, you do not need the silver ring that comes with this - only the trackball and what it is enclosed in.

I opted to purchase this trackball replacement after experiencing many problems with my BB 8900. Of course I tried all the known ways of cleaning the trackball, but these did not help in the long run. I am pleased to report that this product has been working well for the past 4 months. I must admit though, that after opening my telephone, I realized that the place where the trackball sits looked grimy (evidently proving that none of the various ways I tried cleaning it worked). So that may have been the cause of the original trackball not working. Nevertheless, I wiped the spot clean, replaced the trackball which has worked flawlessly ever since. I'm a happy camper once again. As a bonus feature, the colored trackball allows my phone to stand-out from the other BB's in my family. Please note that the right tools and procedure is required to open and close this telephone correctly.

Well, the trackball itself seems to be decent enough but it doesn't light up when the keyboard lights up - the blue is too opaque. The bigger issue, however, was the lack of plastic clip. The picture clearly shows the trackball and the chrome plastic circle clip to hold the trackball in place. Well, all I received was a blue trackball without anything to hold it into place! Not helpful at all! On the plus side, though, I did receive a nice microfiber cloth with it, so that's a plus I guess. Didn't stop me from ordering a different product from a different retailer, though. Very disappointed!

the 8350i has a different retaining ring the ones that have the 3 clips that hold the retaining ring in place will NOT work with 8350i. all the trackballs will fit but the ring is different

The trackball fit the phone fine, but the ball seems to be a little too small. The ball is a bit loose in the holder, so light comes around it. The trackball does not track nearly as well as the one that came with my new casing. I ended up taking this trackball out within five minutes.

Not much to say here, changing the trackball was fun and easy. At the end I had a fully functional trackball again! Way awesome and the price was awesome too! Great deal!

Replacing the trackball was easy. Scrolling is not as smooth as the original trackball. But it works fine. This is a $4 trackball and I am happy with it. I love the purple glow in the dark.
