5.0 out of 5 stars Designer loves Pantone
I'm a graphic designer and love new products that support the many things we do. I love my pink Pantone Mill and can't wait till they come out with new colors - yellow, orange, lime, grey. I'll let the company choose the Pantone color but wouldn't it be nice if I could order my own? Oh, and yes, the product is top quality and works very well. I am a big fan of...

2.0 out of 5 stars Crushed Itself
I was so excited to get rid of my old pepper-leaking-P.O.S. mill. I hated it within three days of bringing it home...about 4 years ago.
I stumbled upon this mill and was wooed by the CrushGrind system, and the cool color concept. I brought it home three days ago, and I loved the way it did its job -- plenty of control over the size of the grind. BUT: tonight as...

BUT: tonight as I was grinding fresh black pepper over my pasta, the cheap plastic holding the mechanism in place crushed itself, dumping 1/4 cup of full peppercorns onto my dinner along with plastic shards and half of the mechanism itself.
I'll be returning it tomorrow.
The mechanism is wonderful (only reason I gave it 2 stars), but this unit's cheap plastic isn't strong enough to hold it together.

This grinder is beautiful and functions wonderfully. I did have some difficulty cleaning it when I had used a very red spice grated over a steaming pot.

Purchased as a gift and the quality of the material was cheap. The Pantone logo was also smudged - which is why someone would buy this. So I returned it.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lovely, but JUNK, January 27, 2010
This review is from: Typhoon Pantone Mill (Kitchen)
We were given this as a Christmas gift, and were thrilled. Lovely and fit right in with what we do. After 3 weeks of the lightest use imaginable, the internal mechanism (the plastic that held the ceramic grinder in place) shattered into several pieces.

I don't often say this, but don't buy under any circumstances. Unless you just want a non-working peppermill that says "Pantone" on it.

UPDATE: On contacting Typhoon's sales department by email (we got NO response from the web form), they quickly and graciously sent us a replacement. The internal mechanism is the same, so I'm sure it would break if we were to use it. Guess this is a decorative piece.

1.0 out of 5 stars Garbage., December 7, 2009
This review is from: Typhoon Pantone Mill (Kitchen)
Cheap, plastic, garbage with the Pantone name thrown on it. Lids broke under normal usage. After a little internet searching, there are plenty of other people with the same issue. I tried to contact the company and they still have not responded, 3 weeks later. Without lids, they're useless. They'll probably get tossed and I'll move on to something quality and French made.
