It's an unuseable flashy red torch,

This item was backordered for almost three months. I had purchased it as a gift for my roommate and it became our running joke with every update I got that it was to be delayed longer. It's a great looking torch, reasonable price and we were glad we had waited...expect..... We were really looking forward to our creme brule, but even when it is fully loaded with butane it refuses to light. We can light it with a match, but it's disappointing that we have to risk catching ourselves on fire. It's cheap, too cheap. Maybe ours just has a defective ignition, but I just saw another review and this isn't the first unusable torch sent.

this torch is either a flame thrower or a puny, useless flame that goes out after burning for about 3 seconds! it takes a lighter held up next to the torch to light it. i'm going to try and return it. absolute waste of time and money!!!

I've used this torch for several months now to help complete my créme brulée creations, yum :) So far this product is effective in what I use it for, which is to burn sugar on top of custard. My only gripe about it though is that the flame control is terrible. I have to make sure my hand is SUPER steady, otherwise the flame goes out of control and takes a little while to readjust to the setting you like.
Overall, if you're looking for a torch for once in awhile use, this would be suited for your needs. However, if you need one on a more regular basis I'd say to opt for one of the more expensive ones. Edit: Forgot to mention that I don't have any problems with the igniter. When I first got it I was a tad worried due to the fact it wasn't lighting but by flicking the switch that's above the lighter switch (I have no clue what it's called) a few times, I have had no problems lighting the thing.
